Motion 410 is now up for vote: an ambitious proposal aiming to implement a trustless Ethereum 2.0 light client as a Substrate Pallet, which will be compatible with all parachains in the ecosystem. Connecting Polkadot to Ethereum enables the interoperability between two of the largest and most established blockchain networks, allowing for the transfer of assets, data and applications across the two networks. The technical specifications for the Ethereum 2.0 Light Client Pallet are based on the official Consensus Eth2 Light Client specs and encompass various aspects of the client, which can be reviewed on the proposal’s contextual information: along with budget, team information and more.
Please note that, given the allocation request, this proposal is submitted as an external motion: meaning if/after Council approves, the community will have the final decision in democracy module.
