Polkadot Hubs - Initiative case-study

Our proposal is focused on the already established, physical Polkadot Hub in Denpasar, Indonesia which serves as an experimental research and a strong case study on the Polkadot Hubs concept (community run physical locations all over the world) while bringing the enthusiastic APAC-based Polkadot community together. In the meantime, we have created an intro video:

Story of Polkadot Sanctuary

Starting in January, we have embarked on an exciting new project to develop the first-ever global Polkadot Hubs framework and educational materials. To achieve this goal, we need real experience on the topic to provide a realistic and tested blueprint to aid the future Hubs. The project began in the with the idea of the first physical hub focusing on our ecosystem, located in Denpasar, Indonesia, catering to the growing local community.
Our goal is to provide research data, build educational material upon the Polkadot Sanctuary (this is how we call the Polkadot Hub in Denpasar) and gain further public presence, showing how great our ecosystem is.
The Polkadot Hub in Denparas is a collaborative and community-operated learning and working space - we monitor it closely to gain insight, knowledge, and experience in creating and managing future hubs.

We believe that this initiative will pave the way for future hubs, whether physical, online, or hybrid, by providing them with a clear case study and building a supportive community around the concept of the Polkadot Hubs. We are excited about this groundbreaking project and look forward to working with the Polkadot community to create a thriving ecosystem of Hubs in the APAC region and across the world.

Achievements so far:

  • Establishment of Polkadot Sanctuary and secured the location until the end of the year
  • Denpasar initial research is done and community growth is kickstarted. We have 110+ members already in the community.
  • Head Ambassadors Six and Ambassador Gabo secured the location in Denpasar, DNA Creative building, until the end of the year, with zero cost rent and utility for Polkadot.
  • Convinced Denpasar government to choose Substrate for their blockchain technology.
  • Got request from the collective of 14 universities in Denpasar, to provide blockchain education material, focusing on Polkadot and Substrate.
  • Video was created about the story of Polkadot Hub in Denpasar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTjL1weAShs
