Hey Everyone!

We’re honoured to propose the Polkadot Fast-Grants Bounty.

The purpose of this bounty is to fund the fast-grants programme for early-stage builders on Polkadot. This will be modelled on [Solana’s fast-grants](https://earn.superteam.fun/grants/) model with a similar goal, but for Polkadot: anyone who wants to build on Polkadot can get initial funding to do so.

**The problem (summarised)**

This bounty is a response to the following problems in the Polkadot builder funnel:

1.  Polkadot doesn’t have clear funding opportunities for very early-stage builders; and
2.  There is no fast way for developers inspired about Polkadot to get funding to build.

These are both holding back the Polkadot ecosystem, and other blockchains that have solved this are rapidly growing their developer base.

**The solution (summarised)**

The good news is that the answer to the above problems is simple:

1.  A clear programme for early-stage builders to get funding (up to $10,000 each); and
2.  Approvals made as fast as within 72 hours

**Curators**

The curators have deep, sector-specific experience across the Polkadot and builder ecosystems, and are strongly positioned to steward this bounty. The multisig will be a 3 out of 5:

**Community feedback**

Thank you to everyone who helped shape this bounty, from the discussions we had on our previous post, to those who gave feedback live when we presented on AAG for that earlier discussion post (the recording for which is available [here](https://x.com/TheKusamarian/status/1852636778336760314)).

We’ve reviewed it all in detail as curators, and are delighted to have updated our proposal taking into account your feedback.

The main points/questions from the community were:

1.  How will success be measured
2.  How many projects will be funded (and for how much)
3.  What expertise the curators have to manage the bounty

In summary, we have:

1.  Reduced the bounty size by half (to demonstrate success first)
2.  Clarified the definition of what success looks like
3.  Made clear that this is not an EasyA bounty, but an ecosystem-wide one which will benefit the whole community and has a broad base of support (EasyA is just one of the proponents)
4.  Confirmed the types of projects which will be funded

**Executive summary**

Summarised in 5 points, this bounty is:

1.  **Fast:** Because we don’t want people to dismiss Polkadot for other ecosystems
2.  **Retroactive:** So builders can’t leave with the funds without delivering
3.  **Milestone-based:** So we can ensure developers are building what we want to see on Polkadot
4.  **Low-risk:** If there aren’t enough satisfactory projects to fund, the bounty will simply be returned
5.  **First point of contact:** Designed to open opportunities and a way into Polkadot (not designed to be the last point of contact).

This bounty will benefit the whole Polkadot ecosystem, including programmes further downstream, producing top talent for bounties like the Dot Play and Open Source Developer Grants Bounty, with whom we are collaborating closely. Importantly, this bounty is synergistic with, and different from, the other active bounties.

We will be presenting on the upcoming AAGs to share more about our vision for the Fast-Grants Bounty as well as answer any questions the community have, and we would also be delighted to have your feedback here.

**Polkadot Fast-Grants Bounty Summary**

- The Polkadot Fast-Grants Bounty aims to provide funding for early-stage builders on Polkadot, similar to another program on Solana.
- Problems faced by builders include unclear funding opportunities and a slow process to get funding.

Polkadot Fast-Grants Bounty

**Summary:**

We propose to establish a bounty for legal support of the Polkadot ecosystem to provide uncomplicated and effective assistance to new and existing teams around the globe. To make this as simple as possible for projects, the law firm of Amforc Co-Founder Gianni will serve as single point of contact (guaranteeing attorney-client privilege) and leverage a large international network of lawyers to obtain the best possible support, from choosing the right setup structure to helping with legal issues, such as contract and corporate law, IP law, data protection, regulatory issues and supervisory law as well as providing legal templates.

**!Note!:**

The requested amount is set up as a bounty where costs are all paid retroactively. Full transparency with a detailed breakdown of services at hourly levels, along with clear, predefined rates, ensures clarity and fairness in billing.

This bounty proposal [was in discussion period](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/post/2318) since May 22nd. 

**Context of the Proposal**
[Braille](https://braille.wtf/), the [Polkadot UX Guild](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/introducing-the-polkadot-ux-guild-unifying-the-experience-across-the-ecosystem/7647), and [OpenGovWatch](https://opengovwatch.notion.site/User-Experience-Solutions-25ac40a124e34176941e532bee30c30b) have identified a pressing need for improved user experience (UX) within the Polkadot ecosystem. Despite the network's advanced technical capabilities, the user interfaces and overall user experience are not on equivalent with what is currently available on other chains in the web3 space. This discrepancy not only hinders user engagement but also significantly impacts the adoption rates across the ecosystem.


**Objective**
This proposal aims to secure funding to address and resolve existing UX challenges, while also paving the way for innovative solutions that enhance user experience through the capabilities of the Polkadot SDK. Our focus is on elevating the end-user experience to match the network’s technical excellence, ensuring that Polkadot remains competitive and user-friendly.


**Community Involvement**
We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all ecosystem participants are encouraged to contribute. By engaging a broad range of stakeholders, we aim to develop and implement UX standards that meet the community's needs and drive widespread adoption.


**Scope of the Bounty**
This bounty is dedicated to improve the end-user experience. While the technical underpinnings are necessary for such improvements, the primary focus is not on developer experience (DevEx) or backend technical enhancements, but rather on making the Polkadot ecosystem more accessible and intuitive for everyday users.


**Team**
As the bounty operator, Braille will coordinate the entire initiative, ensuring projects progress effectively toward their goals. We have assembled a team of curators, composed of respected ecosystem leaders, who form a 4/6 multisig to oversee and approve all decisions and fund disbursements.

**Polkadot UX Bounty Proposal**

- **Objective**: Improve user experience (UX) in the Polkadot ecosystem to match its technical capabilities.

Polkadot UX Bounty

**Summary:**
The IBP, a collective of independent infrastructure service providers, aims to become the main ecosystem RPC and 'IT department' by providing infrastructure related services to the Polkadot ecosystem and all parachains. The unique design of the IBP creates a globally distributed and resilient ecosystem service provider. By offering RPC services to parachain teams we want to make it more lucrative for new projects to build on Polkadot and existing teams to purely focus on building.


The program is a specialized initiative to enhance the decentralized infrastructure of the Polkadot and Kusama network. It establishes a resilient, globally distributed setup for the core infrastructure services. All services are deployed on infrastructure owned by its members, removing value extraction by unnecessary intermediaries. 

**!Note!:**
The requested amount is set up as a bounty with 5 Polkadot native curators where costs are only paid retroactively. The charge of the hereby stated proposal only occurs in the case of full Polkadot adoption where the scale of deployment would mean:
- \>1140 RPC nodes (across 15 datacenters)
- \>37 Billion requests a month (across relay and parachains)

RPC services are **all paid retroactively** for delivered services monthly by USD value.

**Summary:**

Infrastructure Builders Program

Bridges enable transferring data, assets, and more between multiple chains. Due to their pivotal role and high transaction volumes, they have simultaneously become a hotspot for malicious activities. When exploited, these breaches can lead to significant impact including financial losses.

This proposal aims to ensure the utmost security of the bridges and promote community involvement by implementing a Security Bug Bounty Program. While all developers involved work hard to ensure the software and protocols built are bug-free, secure by design, and third-party code audits have been already performed, it is recognised security best practices to complement this. That’s why Polkadot and Kusama need community and bug bounty hunters to help to identify security vulnerabilities that could cause impact from all the severity levels before it is widely used and adopted.

As a security vulnerability in the bridge can impact both the source and destination blockchains, a mirror bounty is raised on Kusama and Polkadot

- Bridges help move data and assets between different blockchain networks.
- They are important but can also be targets for hackers.
- When hackers exploit these bridges, it can cause big money problems.
- A plan is proposed to make these bridges safer by starting a Security Bug Bounty Program.
- This program encourages community members to find security issues before they become serious.
- Polkadot and Kusama are asking for help from bug hunters to keep the bridges secure.
- Participants in the Bug Bounty Program will get important information to help them. 
- Protecting the bridges is essential for both source and destination blockchains.

POLKADOT <> KUSAMA BRIDGE SECURITY BOUNTY

The purpose of this bounty is to quickly fund meetups for small amounts. The idea is quick turnaround when the amount required is small. Meetups Bounty

Currently, there are two testnets in the Polkadot ecosystem, both being paid for, serviced, and run by Parity: Westend, and Rococo. As a result of the decentralization of Parity, Rococo will be decommissioned in 2024 leaving a gap in Polkadot testnet offering. This gave us a chance to reimagine how a community run testnet would operate, who would maintain it, and what support would be available for new and existing developers building in Polkadot.

A dedicated group of ecosystem agents from Portico, Amforc, Dwellir, Paradox, R0GUE, StakePlus, and Zondax played a key role in the testnet's development, spending 2+ months of personal costs in late 2023, leading to its launch on December 22nd, 2023. Portico and R0GUE are made up of individuals from the Parity “Delivery Services” team who have had vast experience running Rococo over the last 2+ years. 

The new developer testnet, ‘Paseo’ has subsequently launched in late 2023 and is seeking 125,018 DOT ($850,000) from the treasury to operate and run for 1 year (Jan 2024 to Dec 2024). These funds will be managed via a bounty and paid to individuals quartlery in advance, over the 12-month funding period.  
  

This testnet is planned to receive updates just before Polkadot, rather than earlier than Kusama - conceptually making it more stable than Westend and closer to Polkadot in terms of code. It will allow new teams an easy environment to build and deploy, where the development environment of the testnet closely matches production (Polkadot). For dapp teams building on existing Parachains, these parachains can test and run their chains on Paseo, giving them greater confidence to deploy to Polkadot, offering greater stability to the dapp teams. Anyone can deploy here, not just parachain teams, opening up the ability for new builders and teams wanting to experiment with building their own appchain.  
  

This proposal outlines a bounty to manage the following:

1.  Setting up and maintaining the testnet - including upgrading the testnet relay chain runtime as per updates from the fellowship.
    
2.  Maintaining required system chains and upgrading the runtime as per updates from the fellowship. The system chains managed will be Assethub, Coretime, and Bridgehub for the initial launch. 
    
3.  Developer community management and technical support
    
4.  Hardware to run the network - collators for system chains, validators, RPC services, logging, etc

- There are two testnets in the Polkadot system: Westend and Rococo.
- Rococo will close in 2024, which creates a need for a new testnet.
- A new testnet called "Paseo" launched on December 22, 2023.
- Paseo is being developed by a group of teams working together.
- They want $850,000 to run Paseo for one year.
- Paseo will help new teams build and test their apps easily.
- It will be updated to be more stable and similar to Polkadot.
- Anyone can use Paseo, not just teams who already have parachains.

Paseo - Developer Testnet Funding

**_Context of the Proposal_**

This proposal is curated by reputable parachain founders and Polkadot builders who have been active contributors to the Polkadot ecosystem since its inception. With the experience of building in Polkadot and a deep understanding of how DeFi works across other ecosystems, we’ve identified two of the most crucial gaps that have dragged Polkadot’s DeFi ecosystem back; the lack of unified infrastructure and tooling in Polkadot.

_Infrastructure_

Parity's BD team, which was previously responsible for bringing essential infrastructure to the ecosystem, was tasked with directing those infrastructure teams (i.e CEXs, Onramps, Oracles, etc) to the Polkadot treasury for their integration fees. However, Polkadot doesn’t present the most compelling business case due to its low liquidity and user numbers in addition to the perceived complexity of integrating Substrate compared to EVM chains. The added challenges of navigating the on-chain treasury as an outsider further compounded the problems of convincing them to join the ecosystem.

This leaves a DeFi ecosystem that lacks channels of entry for liquidity and outside users and prevents teams on Polkadot to reach their full potential.

_Tooling_

In the current state, teams independently approach the treasury through referendums to secure funding for what they believe are the right solutions to the problems they've identified. However, this approach poses numerous challenges such as the unconventional ways to access funding, not implementing the ideal solution to a specific problem, and the misaligned incentives by receiving payment before the work is delivered.

In addition to the above, there are a lot of resources or teams that aren't incentivized to take a stab at solving the biggest ecosystem problems. One example of this is Parity's Delivery Service Partners Program (DSP) which includes more than 15 substrate development teams mostly focused around runtime development and parachain deployments. Unfortunately, their level of activity has remained relatively low given that the parachain pipeline was affected during the bear market. With the right structure in place, these DSP teams could take initiative to tackle some of the most pressing ecosystem gaps with a group of experts that guides them, provides feedback, provides funding and supports them with GTM initiatives to get the tools adopted across the ecosystem. It would help in funnel engineering resources where the ecosystem needs it most and provide the tooling necessary to improve DeFi specific and general UX and DevEx

**_Proposed Solution_**

This bounty proposal aims to empower both builders and infrastructure providers by establishing the right mechanisms and incentive structures to streamline the development and integration of key missing pieces. A curator set, predominantly consisting of technical parachain founders, will provide clear development guidelines for tooling and infrastructure through Request for Proposals (RFPs), review and assess milestones/deliverables and subsequently provide retroactive funding from the treasury upon successful delivery. The success of this bounty not only signifies addressing the tooling and infra gaps but also incentivizes teams from outside our ecosystem to come and contribute to Polkadot's growth.

Velocity Labs will support most of the effort for this bounty and will be accompanied by leaders from the following teams:

This proposal is about helping Polkadot's DeFi ecosystem grow by fixing two big problems: not having enough infrastructure and tooling. Infrastructure is like the foundation that supports the whole system, and tooling are the tools people use to build and use the system. 

Right now, it's hard for new teams and users to join Polkadot because it's not easy to get the money and tools they need. Also, teams are not sure how to get money for their ideas, and sometimes they don't fix the right problems. 

The people who made this proposal want to bring in more builders and infrastructure providers by creating a group of experts. This group will give clear instructions on what to build, check if the work is done well, and give money from the treasury if the work is successful. 

The group will be made up of people from different teams, like Velocity Labs, Moonbeam, Acala, and more. They will help make sure the right things get built and the money is spent in the right way.

DeFi Infrastructure & Tooling Bounty

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Some current issues related to marketing proposals:
 
● Insufficiently robust investment in marketing about the Polkadot ecosystem diminishes the general crypto community's interest in the ecosystem, as well as reducing the appeal for developers to engage in building projects.

● Diverse marketing qualities and perspectives within the ecosystem, especially among significant stakeholders, generate unwarranted negativity.

● Varying values presented in different proposals create significant disparities when balancing budgets.

● Low-quality proposals and lack of verification lead to the potential for fraudulent activities.
 
Furthermore, there are certain risks and potential benefits directly impacting the Polkadot ecosystem behind these proposals, which the general community might not spend much time researching, and still make voting decisions, resulting in inefficiencies.
 
 
PROPOSAL OBJECTIVES

The goal of marketing bounty is to reward marketing teams/entities for their effort and bring enormous traction for the whole Polkadot ecosystem, push Polkadot back to the top list and become a real “community protocol".
 
In this proposal, we are proposing a set of 8 main curators who will be responsible to curate marketing-related proposals with different categories:

(1) Approach new target audience/users.

(2) Retain Polkadot ecosystem lovers, daily users.

(3) Educate, and produce tutorial contents for users/developers.

(4) Manage local communities (ecosystem update/users support/developers engagement).

(5) Amplify branding for high-trusted ecosystem agents.

(6) Sponsorship for specific occasions (F1 Race, Super Bowl, etc).

(7) One time campaign (1 specific event generated by several influencers).
 
In this proposal, we are proposing a set of 8 main curators who will be responsible to curate marketing-related activities with multisig using pure proxy via MultiX. We also propose a compensation rate for weekly management. However, within the curator set, some individuals will hold positions as significant investors and they will have the option to return a portion of their received reward from the multisig fund after a specified period.
 
All 8 curators will manage the funds using a multisig with pure proxy via MultiX. The threshold is set to 4 out of 8 for a child-bounty to get released. Conflicts of interests are addressed in the proposals with feedback from various Polkadot core contributors.

Marketing Bounty Proposal

This bounty is primarily designed to fund Collators on System Parachains with a fixed fiat monthly fee of US$300.00.

### Introduction

This proposal aims to implement a procurement strategy for public RPC services in the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. ### Problem Statement

Reliable public RPC services are crucial for the growth of the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. Existing applications, such as Polkadot.js.org and Nova Wallet, require optimal functioning for an enhanced user experience. The proposal addresses the challenge of balancing service provision with sustainable treasury spending. It acknowledges the evolving role of light clients and the continued need for RPCs and bootnodes.

### Proposed Strategy

The procurement strategy aims to optimize quality of service, sustainable cost, decentralization, and simplicity. Key definitions, such as curators, independent RPC monitoring, system chains, and qualified RPC providers, are outlined. Quality of Service Reports and Service Agreements form essential components, with predefined standards and penalties for non-compliance.

### Tender Submission and Evaluation

A transparent process is proposed for RPC providers to submit tenders, with defined standards of service. Two potential options for tenders are presented: one focusing on cost targets and the other on predefined service levels. The curators, responsible for evaluation, scoring, and public announcement of selected providers, will ensure transparency and community involvement.

### Operations Phase

RPC providers awarded service agreements are obligated to provide services throughout the six-month operations phase. Independent RPC monitoring will assess performance, and metrics will be made public. Providers will be paid monthly in arrears based on the EMA7 day average price of DOT/KSM.

### Budget and Costings

The proposed budget for the program is $400,000, providing a 12-month runway for assessment. Funding will be split between Polkadot and Kusama treasuries, with curator payments of $350 per month from the Polkadot portion. The budget accounts for potential quarterly expense variations based on traffic and evolving requirements.

This [bounty proposal](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dLvzMgP8-BFg25Y1eK1PF6sv5SpN0SbktGkPvUkPSbk/edit?usp=sharing) aims to provide an incentive to authorized Polkadot Moderators for their round-the-clock contribution and support to the communities.

The Community Moderation Team is a group of Ambassadors from the Polkadot and Kusama communities. The team originated as unpaid volunteers, after which they were occasionally tipped by the Kusama treasury. Later on, a bounty was [requested](https://kusama.polkassembly.io/bounty/14) and [funded](https://kusama.polkassembly.io/motion/528) on Kusama in August 2022) and [topped up](https://kusama.subsquare.io/referenda/referendum/29) thereafter (in January 2023). Within the original roadmap, there were plans to migrate to Polkadot after the structure and evaluation mechanism matured.

The Community Moderators provide a dedicated daily service, actively monitoring new member joinings to ensure the community is protected from fraudsters. They guide users with first-line direction and support while promptly identifying and regulating or banning obvious scammers to maintain a safe environment for all.

Since the beginning of the bounty on Kusama, the structure and review system of the moderation team activities have improved significantly. A couple of changes have been made to help improve the objectivity of reviews and rewards and better understand how large the team needs to be to sustain the various platforms, etc.

The team comprises thirteen **(13)** members with a significant level of involvement in the ecosystem. This ensures that they are able to keep abreast with recent advancements in the ecosystem and can effectively assist the community as needed. In light of extending responsibilities to the Polkadot Forum, this estimates an average of four Moderators per platform per day including overlaps. This implies a **six-hour** shift to attain 24-hour coverage for all the platforms. Despite this, only **two hours** of work per day will be rewarded in line with previous top-ups. We're also extending our moderatorial activities to the Polkadot forum and Polkassembly. Based on the number of platforms that are being (and will be) moderated and given that the aim is to monitor the official channels on a 24/7 basis across all time zones, we have determined that thirteen (13) is the minimum optimal team size.

This bounty proposes a 6-month budget of $112,320 (25,004.45 DOT) to support 15 hours of work per week for each moderator for the period of August 2023 to January 2024. The EMA-7 rate for conversion ($4.492/DOT) was taken on the 26th of August 2023.

### TLDR;
The purpose of this bounty is to nurture and develop WebAssembly smart contracts on parachains. As Gavin mentioned in this [CoinDesk article](https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2021/05/25/polkadots-gavin-wood-webassembly-is-the-future-of-smart-contracts-but-legacy-evm-is-right-now/), WebAssembly is the future of smart contracts. However, even in the Polkadot ecosystem, EVM smart contract is the go-to-market solution now simply because lack of ecosystem toolings and dApps new developers can refer to. To bootstrap the Wasm dApps in the ecosystem, we will fund canary dApps and toolings through this bounty.

### Context of This Bounty

Currently, based on the data, smart contract Parachains are leading the Polkadot ecosystem in terms of market adoption. More projects are deploying dApps on Polkadot Parachains than making Parachains today and this trend will likely continue due to the high resource requirement to deploy a chain. The core problem is that the Polkadot ecosystem only supports EVM at the time of writing this and we are reproducing something which other L1s/L2s can do. One of Polkadot’s main differentiators and default environments is Wasm. In this bounty, we would like to push Wasm smart contracts adoption. The scope is as follows:

- Create easily accessible and audited ink!/ask! smart contract showcases
- Create ink!ubator - an incubation program to support community projects built with ink! and parachains that want to expose select APIs through contracts-pallet “chain extensions”. We will also help facilitate a smart contract auditing market.
- Develop a React hooks library “useInk” - the missing front-end library for Dapps on Polkadot.

He joined the web3 space in 2015 and started developing Astar Network in 2019. Apart from his achievements, he is a director of the Japan Blockchain Association and used to be a blockchain researcher at the University of Tokyo and a task force member of Trusted Web led by the Japanese government. In addition to that, he was chosen for Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia in the IT division and Forbes 30 Under 30 Japan.

Hernando joined the blockchain space in 2017, initially curious about the world of smart contracts on Ethereum. Community Events Reward Bounty with Child-Bounty Distribution

### Purpose of the bounty

Scams are plaguing our ecosystem, as they do the entire industry. However, as a community, we have shown time and again that we take scams seriously and strive to create a safe ecosystem for users. 

This bounty proposal aims to incentivise the community, both individuals and companies, to fight against scams and protect users from falling for them. We believe that anti-scam response should be a community endeavour and this is what this proposal aims to build.

This proposal expands on the community initiative targeting scam sites that has been ongoing for several months now with high levels of success. However, the current initiative is focused only on scam sites, while overlooking other aspects of scam fighting where we could be doing more. 

With this proposal we aim to create a holistic solution that addresses the problem from several aspects, while bringing awareness to the community, and educating users, of both the problems and the efforts to address them. The bounty for this proposal is meant to be open-ended, with the funds being distributed through child bounties that cover several aspects of the anti-scam response.

The tasks described in the child bounties utilise mostly off-chain tools and processes, but it is the goal of this initiative to evolve to bring as much of that as possible on-chain. These tasks came from feedback from the community and the experience garnered from the current initiative.

The child bounties will be opened gradually as potential implementers come forward, and more will almost certainly be added along the way. They are described in this proposal with varying levels of details, but all parameters of each child bounty, in terms of implementation, participation and rewards, will be defined in detail before the child bounty is opened.

And because this is an evolving process, changes to the bounties are almost certain as we gain more experience and get more feedback from the community. But the three main evolution goals of this initiative are:

- To move it on-chain as much as possible
- To have it being driven and coordinated exclusively by the community
- To become an anti-scam umbrella over the broader Polkadot ecosystem, covering parachains, other relay chains and projects

NFTMozaic is starting a new program to help early-stage projects create NFT apps on Polkadot. They will give money to about 20 projects to make simple, user-friendly apps that people can use. The projects need to focus on getting people to use their apps, like making wallets and doing things on the blockchain. The projects should be about things like games, entertainment, or using NFTs for businesses, not just art or collectibles. The NFTMozaic Council and a special team will choose the projects and make sure they follow the rules. The projects need to show how their app will be good for users and how it can grow if it becomes popular.

### Quick Summary

[NFTMozaic](https://nftmozaic.com/) is launching an outcome-focused **Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Grants Program to support early-stage, consumer-facing, brand-centric NFT dApps on Polkadot**.

This program will mainly focus on **building applications that drive user adoption** - B2C, with most of the dApps being on Polkadot Asset Hub.

We will define a separate program and guidance as needed for larger projects with an existing user base, and are committed to integrating Polkadot or driving their next growth phase with Polkadot.

Unlike traditional grants, NFTMozaic ties 70% of funding to user-onboarding campaigns and user-onboarding metrics, such as wallet creation and on-chain activity, ensuring MVPs lead to adoption, not just demos.

Projects **must deliver a usable MVP with one complete user journey** and allocate 15–20% of their grant to marketing, driving actual usage from day one of launch.

Today, there’s a critical gap between hackathons and real user-ready apps in Web3 and within the Polkadot ecosystem. **NFTMozaic aims to fill this by funding \~20 lightweight MVPs with a built-in user acquisition strategy** that can launch quickly on Asset Hub or other parachains.

The NFTMozaic Council and the curator team will confirm a project’s eligibility and define, evaluate, onboard, and validate projects collaboratively to ensure everyone’s feedback is aligned with the core mission and the overall ecosystem’s values.

EasyA x Polkadot University Microgrants Bounty

**Background context**

The EasyA x Polkadot University is currently being established with the support of the Web3 Foundation by means of a [Decentralized Futures grant](https://medium.com/web3foundation/decentralized-futures-introducing-easya-8fc56b65306a). Its purpose is to attract top university talent to build on Polkadot. Universities are a priceless source of blockchain innovation. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Polkadot’s own co-founder Robert Habermeier were both students when they left academia to build two of the world’s most successful blockchains.

The purpose of this bounty is to fund the microgrants programme for early-stage builders on Polkadot, as envisaged in the EasyA x Polkadot University’s founding mission. This will be modelled on [Solana’s fast-grants model](https://earn.superteam.fun/grants/) with a similar goal, but for Polkadot: anyone who wants to build on Polkadot can get initial funding to do so.

**The problem**

This bounty is a response to the following problems in the Polkadot builder funnel:

1.  Polkadot doesn’t have clear funding opportunities for very early-stage builders; and
2.  There is no fast way for developers inspired about Polkadot to get funding to build

These are both holding back the Polkadot ecosystem, and other blockchains that have solved this are rapidly growing their developer base.

**The solution**

The good news is that the answer to the above problems is simple:

1.  A clear programme for early-stage builders to get funding (up to $10,000 each); and
2.  Approvals made as fast as within 72 hours

Everyone in the Polkadot ecosystem can feel that we’re at an inflection point. As contributors to the Polkadot ecosystem since 2022, we can sense this more than ever. [Plaza](https://www.rob.tech/blog/plaza/) is right around the corner, agile coretime has arrived, and we’ve inspired a record number of developers about Polkadot’s potential. Whereas previously Polkadot itself was only open to chain builders, it is now opening up to smart contract builders. This is a once in a cycle opportunity. And the EasyA x Polkadot University Microgrants programme is set to capitalise on this.

This bounty will benefit the whole Polkadot ecosystem, including programmes further downstream, producing top talent for bounties like the Dot Play and Open Source Developer Grants Bounty, with whom we are collaborating closely.

- A new program will give money to people who make free, open computer programs for Polkadot.
- Up to 15 projects can get up to $30,000 each.

The goal of this Bounty is to incentivize and reward indie developers to build games on Polkadot.

The idea is that UNLIKE CLASSICAL STARTUP funding that is usually done by VCs and requires an incredible amount of due diligence and expertise because of:

- the vast scope of potential problems and solutions being tackled by the various startups
- the high uncertainty regarding the reliability and the ability to execute of the team
- the complexity of different business plans based on specific bets on future market trends



DEVELOPING GAMES is a lot more predictable and it is a lot easier to assess what the cost should be and the ability to execute of the team.

Those games can be highly valuable to the ecosystem especially if they are tightly integrated with the chain.

It is easy to assess the ability of a team to produce a game just by looking at previous work. It is also easy to assess the cost because it is only cost of development and not cost of creating a complete business.

It is also easy to pay in small milestones minimizing the risk. You do not need to give large amounts of money at high valuations to people and let them play with the money, you just pay incrementally as the game gets developed and you see the development happening.

Basically classical VC investing is a lot less linear but game development is quite linear, you can really pay as the game is being developed, understand the costs incurred, predict the time to completion, assess the quality objectively, etc

The idea is that game development is a specific niche that does not require the deep expertise of the VCs and can also provide a very strong adoption of the underlying blockchain Polkadot.

I believe that we can seed and fund incrementally indie game developers with minimal risk and potentially high upside for the ecosystem.

The purpose of this bounty is to be able to do this.

The list of curators has not been defined yet and will be defined in the next referendum.

I am discussing with different credible curators and will finalize the list hopefully in 1-2 weeks.

I am posting the bounty just to ensure that we can start deploying capital as soon as possible. Of course the community is always free to reject the list of curators once it is proposed

Games Bounty

- The Polkadot Pioneers Prize is a new program to encourage innovation on the Polkadot network.
- It will have challenges that focus on topics like zero-knowledge research and improving Polkadot's technology.

We are excited to announce a proposal for a new incentive prize program called the Polkadot Pioneers Prize (“Pioneers Prize”).

The Pioneers Prize is a series of challenges created with the goal of propelling technical innovation on the Polkadot network. The first two of those challenges will be announced later this year and will cover categories including zero-knowledge research and Polkadot infrastructure improvements.

Challenge winners will receive DOT; the total prize funds available at program launch will be split between the first two challenge categories and is projected to be 993286.08 DOT — worth roughly 18 million USD.

The Pioneers Prize will be managed by an elected curator and will likely contain members of the on-chain treasury council, Parity Technologies, the Web3 Foundation, and other external ecosystem partners.

In addition to funding research, the Pioneers Prize and its proposal look to model how the community can achieve greater agency by directing on-chain treasury funds in new and creative ways.

New Proposal: Polkadot Pioneers Prize, an Incentive Prize Program

- Mugaddas is proposing a marathon for learning about the Polkadot ecosystem in Azerbaijani.

Hi! My name Mugaddas. I have been stduying the Polkadot ecosystem for 3 years. Because strongly believe in this technology and als because there is not enought information about the Polkadot ecosystem in Azerbaijani language, i have started a DotSama Marathon n my [telegram channel. ](https://t.me/postadam)
To start the marathon, i first shared a form on my channel so that the participants could register their telegram address and e-mail. So far 22 people have joined the maratho, and i think this is a good indicator for a start. I have already shared the first three steps of the marathon. In the first step i sent the WND token to the participants with the Telenova wallet working on Telegram.
I have shared a video on how to claim the token. In the second step i instructed to import the seed phrase code of Telenova wallet to Nova wallet and shared video information about it. 
In the third step i shared a new form and asked the participants to fill in their DOT, HDX, NODL and WND adresses. (I think in the future for on-chain analysis and proof that i really achieved something, i will need this information.)
I have also shared a video about this. Next step i will show them how to stake and claim profit in WND example. I think they will be able to learn stake more securely with WND token. In the next step i will show participants how to collect Nodle and XCM transfer it to Hydration dex. I think that my step-by-step sharing about the entire ecosystem will create more interest and Azerbaijani speakers will also come to the Polkadot ecosystem.

Financial Plan

If that wasn't enough, here is another novelty. We will create a newsletter so anyone can subscribe to current news about Polkadot, cryptocurrencies, and businesses. This way, we promote and retain more users, helping to promote the Polkadot Hub and the ecosystem.

Otra parte del beneficio se utilizará para comprar Polkadot y poder tener ganancias de staking.

Una de las ideas que se someterán a votación será ampliar con más locales por toda Barcelona o incluso más partes del país y del mundo. Ya no Polkadots Hubs que requiere de una infraestructura más grande y más inversión si no Polkadot café que serán locales más pequeños donde poder tomar un café y hablar de inversiones, hacer networking o pequeñas charlas.

Lo más importante que vemos nosotros es la transparencia de este proyecto, las cuentas de resultados y balances se publicarán en la página web para que toda la comunidad pueda acceder a cómo se está gestionando el negocio y que la comunidad pueda decidir al ver resultados qué decisiones financieras y no financieras se van a tomar.

Toma de decisiones
Todas nuestras decisiones de cómo será el Polkadot Hub queremos que se tomen en comunidad, por eso crearemos un sistema de votaciones para que toda la comunidad pueda participar en decisiones, como por ejemplo: que local utilizar, la zona, que campañas de marketing hacer, distribución del local, que ambientación usar… Todas las decisiones importantes serán expuestas a la comunidad.

Estrategia de Marketing
Utilizaremos una variedad de canales para promocionar el Polkadot Hub, incluyendo redes sociales, marketing de contenidos, relaciones públicas y eventos de lanzamiento. Además, aprovecharemos la comunidad de Polkadot existente para generar interés y participación en nuestro espacio. Incluiremos un % de los beneficios generados para hacer campañas de marketing en nuestras redes sociales.

Plan Financiero
El Polkadot Hub requerirá una inversión inicial para la adquisición de inmobiliaria, mobiliario, equipos, licencias y marketing. 

Calculamos que necesitamos 150.000 Polkadots ya que gran parte de este dinero tendrá que ir destinado a impuestos ya que tendrá que ser trasladado al mundo fiat para comprar todo.

(En España hay una alta carga impositiva para retirar del mundo de las criptomonedas al fiat),

Pues si, todo esto no acaba aquí, crearemos un estudio/plato con ambientación de Polkadot en el mismo Polkadot Hub para crear un podcast donde hablaremos principalmente de Polkadot pero además hablaremos de criptomonedas y negocios. Traeremos invitados externos y los usuarios de Polkadot Hub podrán acceder al público en directo e interactuar. De esta manera podremos atraer a gente fuera del ecosistema a que se interese por Polkadot.

Lawsuit against Giotto De Filippi

A referendum is being held to decide if 1 million DOT should be used for future funding of DED, a meme coin. The community's opinion on funding DED long-term is divided, and this referendum aims to understand if there is support for continued funding. Voting yes means 100% of DED tokens will be distributed to DOT holders, while voting no means a smaller amount will be distributed, with private investors and influencers involved. The goal is to sense the community's long-term view on funding DED.

With this referendum we are asking 1 million DOT for future funding of DED Based on several Twitter polls I have the feeling that the community is against funding this meme coin for the long run in order to make it a success This referendum is designed to understand if there is appetite in funding DED for the long run or not, it doesn't mean the 1 million have to be entirely spent but they could be spent if it will lead to effective results The point is we have to decide if to airdrop 100% of the DED tokens or not If we airdrop 100% of the tokens we have to be sure that we have funds from the treasury to support the development and marketing of DED Because if we airdrop 100% and then the community doesn't want to continue funding DED we basically run out of ammunition, we cannot sell DED tokens to private investors or give them to influencers Voting yes to this referendum means that 100% of the supply will be distributed to DOT holders as initially planned Voting no means that a smaller amount will be distributed to DOT holders and private investors will be involved and some tokens will also be given to influencers I will abstain from voting on this referendum because the goal is to sense the long-term view of the community regarding funding DED For context: https://x.com/giottodf/status/1765800732735815823?s=20 https://x.com/giottodf/status/1765970981842006224?s=20 Curators: TBD

- A new marketing bounty is being made for Polkadot.  
- The old one was too complicated and had too many rules.  
- The new bounty is simple and easy to understand.  
- Its goal is to support Polkadot’s marketing without strict limits.  
- It will focus on the best marketing opportunities as they come up.  
- The community can change curators if they are not happy.  
- Reports on spending and results will be shared online.

This new marketing bounty is being created in order to be more flexible compared to the previous one \[33\] The issue with the previous one is that the mandate was extremely complicated and detailed which was most likely unnecessary. It will be replaced by this new bounty which will have a very simple and easy to understand scope The scope of the new bounty is the following: The purpose of this bounty is to support marketing for Polkadot. There are no specific rules and restrictions regarding to which type of marketing is going to be supported, or specific maximum caps regarding projects or anything of the sort. This bounty is more mission based, it will try to identify the best opportunities for marketing as those opportunities arise. There is no point setting artificial limitations that will simply prevent us from taking the best opportunities. The community is of course free to refuse to refill or to request a change of curators if not satisfied with the results. I personally believe it is more important to produce quality results and be effective rather than write extremely complicated and detailed proposals that only create problems and limitations later on. Bounty Business Development in Spain & Andorra

Bounty Proposal: Business Development Polkadot in Spain & Andorra

- The goal is to find strong business development (BD) candidates for Polkadot.
- Currently, many applications are from ex-Parity workers, but top BD experts don’t know about the opportunity.
- A headhunting agency, Missing Link, is helping to find experienced candidates from other blockchain projects.
- A bounty system is suggested to pay candidates in small amounts to see if they can produce good results.
- Using a bounty helps avoid long voting processes and keeps candidates motivated.
- Five potential BD candidates are being interviewed, expected to create strong partnerships.
- A list of curators will be made soon, and the community can give feedback on it.

The goal of this bounty is to push BD for Polkadot.

Right now DF is reviewing certain BD applications however those mostly come from ex Parity people.

Most TOP BD people are not aware about DF and are not applying.

I have requested the head hunting agency Missing Link to assist with identifying very STRONG BD candidates with previous experience and successful track record on other chains. 

In order to attract them we need a bounty that allows to fund them and pay in small increments because we have to be able to see if they can deliver or not.

Referendum is not a good solution because:
- no one is going to agree to work if they have to go every month to referendum to get their compensation
- paying one year in advance is also crazy because it reduces the motivation and there is no way to recover the money in case of lack of delivery

The bounty is the right instrument because:
- it removes the uncertainty of referendum for them
- they know that if they do not deliver the relationship can be interrupted at any time

I am currently interviewing with five potential  BD candidates and I think they could really deliver significant results in terms of bringing quality partnerships for Polkadot

The list of curators has not been defined yet and will be defined in the next referendum.

I am discussing with different credible curators and will finalize the list hopefully in 1-2 weeks.

I am posting the bounty just to ensure that we can start deploying capital as soon as possible. Of course the community is always free to reject the list of curators once it is proposed
