Dear Polkadot Community,
After the successful completion of our initial project phase funded by Referendum 352 on Kusama, I am excited to present the next step for the Polkadot OpenGov Observer initiative. Over the past six months, we have made significant progress in enhancing community engagement with Polkadot governance, and now I am seeking a second round of funding totaling 1000 DOT ($4,300 USD) to further our impact and expand our offerings.
The Polkadot OpenGov Observer was created to foster community engagement by providing real-time updates and comprehensive monthly overviews of OpenGov activities, treasury allocations, and voter behavior on social platforms such as Twitter.
New Features:
With the requested funding, we aim to continue developing the project and introduce several new features that will enhance its utility:
Delegate Voting Updates: The new version of the Twitter bots will showcase delegate votes. This feature will provide valuable insights into how influential delegates are voting on key proposals.
Pinned Posts for Monthly Treasury and Governance Stats: We will introduce pinned posts that offer a clear and concise overview of treasury holdings in DOT, USDT, USDC, and other tokens, as well as governance statistics. This will help community members easily track and understand the financial health and governance activities within the ecosystem.
On-Chain Identity Migration Updates: Due to the recent migration of on-chain identities to People’s Chain, many identities are not currently displayed. We will modify our code to accurately reflect on-chain identities of voters, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Funding Breakdown:
Our mission remains to drive greater adoption of Polkadot OpenGov by making it more accessible and engaging for all community members. Our ultimate goal is to achieve a participation rate of 40% of DOT holders in governance activities, which will help ensure more informed and fair decision-making within the ecosystem.
By developing new features and refining our existing tools, we aim to establish the OpenGov Observer Bots as the central hub for all governance-related activities on Twitter. This will support existing community members and attract new participants, contributing to a more decentralized and transparent decision-making process.
Best regards,
Ashutosh Singh
