I am writing to address a series of serious incidents that I believe constitute significant violations of our code of conduct. As Head Ambassadors, we are expected to represent the Polkadot brand with the highest level of professionalism and integrity, we must take swift action to put our own house in order before society and law enforcement are compelled to intervene. Unfortunately, Don Diego Sanchez’s recent actions have failed to meet this standard, and his continued presence in this leadership position risks damaging the reputation of the Polkadot ecosystem.
Incident Overview:
1.
Inappropriate Behavior on Social Media: On August 24th, Don Diego Sanchez posted a tweet link to tweet containing derogatory language, inappropriate emojis, and tags to major financial institutions, including Deutsche Bank, BBVA, and Banco Santander, compromising the reputation of the entire Ambassadors team.
This unprofessional and public behavior goes against the values we uphold as Head Ambassadors of Polkadot. Not only does it tarnish our credibility, but it also jeopardizes relationships with key players in the financial sector, with potentially long-lasting consequences for the ecosystem.
2.
Misrepresentation and Malicious Intent: Even more concerning is Don Diego’s deliberate misrepresentation regarding his proposal. He falsely claimed that, if approved, four companies would bring significant Business Development (BD) and marketing efforts to the Polkadot ecosystem. One of these companies, Onyze, is a firm with which I have a close personal relationship, allowing me to provide irrefutable evidence of falsehood in his claims.
Don Diego represents Scorechain in this proposal. After his misleading post, Scorechain personnel contacted the CEO of Onyze via email, requesting support for marketing and BD. The CEO of Onyze explicitly rejected this request, and this rejection occurred after the post had already been made. Despite knowing that Onyze had declined to support the proposal, Don Diego and his team have continued to present this false information without any corrections or edits to the post—even to this day.
This act of dishonesty is particularly egregious for someone in a leadership role. Don Diego knowingly lied to push forward his agenda, even after receiving a direct rejection from one of the companies he cited. His ongoing refusal to correct this information demonstrates a malicious intent to deceive both the Polkadot community and stakeholders.
Violation of Code of Conduct:
Don Diego’s actions clearly breach several core principles outlined in Polkadot’s code of conduct and the tenets of the Polkadot Fellowship:
1.
Disrespecting Colleagues and the Community: His false accusations and offensive language have damaged internal and external relationships, eroding trust within the community.
2.
Reputational Damage: Publicly implicating financial institutions and fellow ambassadors in inappropriate ways risks long-term harm to Polkadot’s reputation and its strategic partnerships.
3.
Deliberate Misrepresentation: Intentionally spreading false information to manipulate a proposal's success is a serious breach of ethical standards. This behavior is malicious and directly contradicts the role of a Head Ambassador, whose duty is to act in the best interests of the ecosystem.
Proposed Actions:
Given the gravity of these incidents, I propose the following immediate actions:
1.
Immediate Demotion of Don Diego Sanchez from the Position of Head Ambassador: His actions demonstrate a clear lack of integrity, professionalism, and respect for the responsibilities entrusted to him. He should be immediately removed from this leadership position as he can no longer effectively represent Polkadot’s values.
2.
Permanent Ban from Future Leadership Roles: Due to the serious nature of his actions, Don Diego should be disqualified from holding any future leadership positions within Polkadot. His malicious intent and disregard for transparency disqualify him from acting as a representative of the ecosystem.
3.
Public Apology and Reconciliation Efforts: To mitigate any reputational damage caused, Don Diego should be required to issue a formal apology to the community and the financial institutions he implicated. This step would serve as an acknowledgment of his wrongdoing and an effort to rebuild trust with the community.
As ambassadors, we are held to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and professionalism. Don Diego’s actions have violated these standards, and swift action is necessary to protect Polkadot’s reputation and ensure that our leadership reflects the values of the ecosystem.
- if anyone asks for proof can speak with Onyze directly and I will bridge the connection.
