Short description
Hello everyone!
On last december I developed a Matrix Bot that announces in a weekly basis which referenda related to RFCs is ongoing on the Fellowship. Initially designed and developed to solve a very specific problem: of people not being able to keep up to the ongoing without the noise the main fellowship channel implies, and free of curation bias — as it is a bot, now it's a great explorer tool that fellows can use to find out the discussions ongoing on the week, go to the links of proposals and even get the link to the RFC pull request on GitHub.
Since then, I've been developing this solution for the community self-funded, and I aim to let it have a future. I'm requesting $1,600
(@ 7.365
DOT / EMA7) as retroactive for 32 hours of work in this project that's currently being used by members in the Polkadot Fellowship.
Future Outlook
Of course, this won't be the end of it. A series of proposals for improving it and making it WAY more useful than it already is are underway:
- Decentralizing the bot by making it a Light Client.
- Updating voting count of referenda based of on-chain events.
- Using ML to summarize RFCs and give people insights.
- Opening threads for people to discuss in the Fellowship RFCs Referenda channel.
- Personalized digest based on interests of every member, sent daily or weekly via DM.
- More bots and channels! One for every type of referenda (Runtimes, XCM calls, RFCs, Help Desk, etc.).
