Proposal Outdated - Do Not Vote: LAOS already won Auction 68 with SF Bid
Since LAOS Network won parachain Auction #68 with a self-funded bid, this petition is no longer required, and will not be pursued. More info can be found at https://laosnetwork.io/crowdloan.
The original text is left below for transparency.
LAOS Network started a Crowdloan for paraid = 3370 on 2024-04-20 [1], aiming at starting to compete for Auction #68 (which started later, on 2024-04-22), and potentially lasting for the remaining auctions of the current batch. The parameters set for the Crowdloan were designed to ensure that contributions would count for the ongoing lease period at the time of creation (period 16), covering periods 16 to 23.
The Crowdloan already had almost 100 participants even before Auction #68 started, and at the time of writing, it had received 92,477 DOT from 321 participants.
Unfortunately, Auction #68 is not recognizing the Crowdloan contributions as bids for the Auction [2].
After testing on the LAOS Rococo testing network, the issue is fixed if the first_period is edited from 16 to 17, i.e. one period larger than the period at the time the Crowdloan started.
If this issue is not fixed, all contributions will fail to be included in all the remaining auctions of this batch (#68 to #73). Crowdloan funds will be held for all this period, and eventually returned.
If fixed within approximately 1 month from now, the contributions will make it on time for the last 3 auctions.
We sincerely apologize for the oversight, as we did not find any documentation indicating that setting the first_period equal to the current period would have this impact.
We hope that this petition fits in the spirit of being considered safe and neutral, as stated in the Whitelisted Caller track guide [3].
We suggest executing the call to the edit method of the Crowdloan, to increment the first_period parameter by 1, from 16 to 17.
The rest of parameters would remain intact, in particular the last_period, guaranteeing that the intention of all contributors is respected, and funds are not locked, in case of winning an auction, beyond the block they initially committed to.
The values set initially can be checked in this transaction [1]:
paraid: 3370
cap: 5000000000000000
first_period: 16
last_period: 23
end: 21413000
The new values just change first_period: 16 --> 17. The details of the call can be found here:
This call has been tested locally with zombienet as well as the LAOS Rococo testing network.
