Dear Polkadot community,
I'm Ayomide Bajo(Bekka)(X) and this is my application for the Polkadot Head Ambassador position.
As a developer, I started my journey into the Polkadot ecosystem by applying to the Polkadot Blockchain Academy and becoming a successful graduate in 2023. In the middle of 2023, I became an ambassador and ever since I’ve been contributing to the growth of Polkadot in Africa, writing articles on my blog about Polkadot and representing wherever i attend web3 events, like the one at devconnect Istanbul. I’m also a key contributor to Rust Nigeria, one of Africa's strongest Rust communities. Polkadot is built using substrate and substrate is built using Rust.
With the support of the African community, I created the official Twitter account for Polkadot Africa and I’m currently its manager. I have hosted a few Twitter(X) spaces since then which has brought warmth and growth to the community. I and other African ambassadors have been building Polkadot Africa.
Currently, I’m working as a technical writer at Polytope Labs. I’m a member of Chaos Dao and also part of H.E.R DAO’s executive team in Nigeria.
I created the Polkadot Africa Twitter account and since then we’ve had the following growth since i started headlining the community for the past 8 months.
This is just the beginning and we achieved these results with little resources and passionate teammates. I believe with more support from the global community, we will experience bigger growth!
To keep this proposal brief, I created a document highlighting my visions, goals and the next steps for the African community
We know Polkadot has the tech. Polkadot powers Depin, AI, Bridges, and Oracles. It is also cheap, fast and great for developers who also want to experiment with advanced ideas on the blockchain.
With the help of the community, we can push this out there to Africans and the global community and achieve a community of innovators, community builders, developers, advocates and other different types of contributors.
Thank you for reading this far ✨
Warm regards,
Ayomide Bajo(Bekka)
