While we believe that supporting founders is an honorable goal in principle, we find the request to fully fund two consulting resources for an entire year to be quite substantial. This investment should be evaluated in relation to the value it generates. With approximately $250,000, several projects could be funded directly.

Given that the objective is to enable other projects, we would expect the funds to yield leveraged results. To better assess the return on this significant investment for the ecosystem—particularly in comparison to directly funding projects—we would appreciate a list of previously supported businesses that have achieved success, are providing value to the ecosystem today and which part PolkaBiz had in their success.

Finally, we can reveal the name of a startup we’ve supported!

80+ talented teams applied for the Polimec x Scytale Academy, but only 4 secured a spot.

Congratulations to CognideX, Colb Finance, Joinn Finance, and Roam Network! 🎉

We’re especially proud of CognideX, the startup we guided through Pitch & Mentor sessions. Great to see them take the next step! 🚀

I support PolkaBiz for their valuable guidance on W3F fast grants, which helped SoftLaw secure a grant recipient position.

I had the chance to see what Mario and Christian pulled off in Lucerne, and it was clear how much dedication and thought they put into curating and supporting high-potential teams. They created a super-focused environment that brought the right people together, and it felt like everyone got value out of it: founders, mentors, and the ecosystem overall. It’s clear they know how to build meaningful programs, so I’d be excited to see this momentum continue.

Seems very reasonable and essential. Thanks for what you're doing. Education is one of the biggest pillars for a better world, more free and more responsabile. I would like to take a peek into a session to see how is it like. Keep the momentum!

Dear Proposer,

Thank you for your proposal. Our first vote on this proposal is AYE.

The Medium Spender track requires 50% quorum and simple majority of non-abstain voters according to our voting policy. This proposal has received five aye and one nay votes from ten members, with four members abstaining. Below is a summary of our members' comments:

In the recent referendum, most voters expressed support for PolkaBiz, highlighting its role in fostering professionalism, mentorship, and essential support for newcomers within the Polkadot ecosystem. Several voters abstained for various reasons, including policy concerns and conflicts of interest. However, one dissenting voice raised significant concerns about potential nepotism and the need for accountability in funding, advocating for a more structured payment schedule to ensure transparency and proper oversight. Overall, the feedback underscored the importance of PolkaBiz while also calling for careful scrutiny of its operations.

The full discussion can be found in our internal voting.

Please feel free to contact us through the links below for further discussion.

DISCLAIMER: Our Decentralized Voices delegation voted to abstain on this referendum in accordance with our conflict of interest policy, announced on the 27th of March, 2025.

Mario and Christian are doing such positive and impactful work in assisting entrepreneurs and in using their collective experiences to raise the professional bar on the ecosystem. I met them at PBA and was happy to run into them again at PBA Lucerne, where they were diligently working at a table with one participant after another. They are clearly dedicated and methodical in the way they approach this role, and I trust their judgement given such complementary and varied backgrounds and strengths. Love the dedication to positive growth in the ecosystem - AYE!

On behalf of Trustless Core DV and as a consequence of the impossibility to issue feedback from that account, the corresponding feedback is presented:

"Dear Proposer,
Thank you for the proposal.
Trustless Core has voted AYE.
The proposal fills an unexplored niche for the incorporation of startups into the ecosystem based on the work done in PBA. It fills that gap between the startup project and the ecosystem.
Some members raised concerns about the cost of the proposal and the amount per hour of mentoring but the team consider it is an important first step to advance in the incorporation of new projects and integrations needed for the Polkadot ecosystem.
Kind regards,
Trustless Core
