Hello, your report has a very strong marketing component with many photos, however, your cost report doesn't include any invoices that would allow validation of the correct use of funds. All amounts entered are text, with no validation possible.

As long as this remains the case, the vote will be NAY.

Hi Phil, Dom

In the spirit of transparency—and given that this is a retroactive funding request for a previously approved proposal—would it be possible for you to share receipts or supporting documentation for some of the listed expenses, such as the venue costs? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hello @EasyA Governance ,

It seems that the EasyA has so far received $1.2 million from the treasury:

1314 :: -                 :: $392K
1135 :: 87550 DOT @  $4.0 :: $350K
 503 :: 52090 DOT @ $10.5 :: $550K
 371 :: 10360 DOT @  $7.6 ::  $78K
 216 :: 54750 DOT @  $5.3 :: $290K

We see presence, that's for sure, and a bombardment of social media activity, but I'm not sure at all whether this expenditure is justified with deep returns. What is deep returns? Amazing ideas and fully functioning apps emerging from the EasyA-organized hackathons or events, which would maybe justify the $1.2 million spend.

If there is such value, then please document and focus on it. I should note personally that I'm really not interested in the spirits at the events, the crowds, or your acquaintances, but only in the solid returns to the ecosystem.

Regards,
kukabi | Helikon

PS. This seems more within the scope of the events or marketing bounties, or both, rather than a direct treasury spend.

Dear Proposer,

Thank you for your proposal. Our first vote on this proposal is AYE.

The Medium Spender track requires 50% quorum and simple majority of non-abstain voters according to our voting policy v0.2, and any referendum in which the majority of members vote abstain receives an abstain vote. This proposal has received five aye and two nay votes from ten available members, with two members abstaining. Below is a summary of our members' comments:

In the referendum, opinions varied among voters regarding a proposal from EasyA. Most expressed support, citing the team's effectiveness and the importance of fostering awareness among young developers. However, some raised concerns about the validity of the reported numbers, questioning the actual impact of hackathon projects on the ecosystem. Detractors highlighted issues with transparency, the quality of projects, and the potential for inflated success metrics, suggesting that funding might be propping up struggling startups rather than driving genuine growth within the community.

The full discussion can be found in our internal voting.

Please feel free to contact us through the links below for further discussion.

Kind regards,

Truth DAO voted AYE.

The number of Polkadot developers still lags behind Solana, and continuous investment in education is essential. This proposal offers strong ecosystem synergy, with a focus on developer incentives (bounties/travel) and content production (educational videos/course updates), aligning with ecosystem development priorities.

However, there are concerns about long-term retention, as the proposal does not disclose the project’s survival rate (e.g., only one out of 126 projects confirmed to receive Web3 Foundation support). Budget transparency is also lacking—we hope additional details on past spending (such as venue, equipment rental, travel expenses, etc.) can be provided to make the proposal more convincing.

That said, overall support is high!

PolkaWorld voted AYE.

Two-thirds of the votes were in favor, with one-third marked as pending.

Easy focuses on educational initiatives, and this proposal centers on their area of expertise. The team has demonstrated strong execution capabilities and clear KPI achievement in previous projects. This initiative provides foundational educational resources and a user-friendly access platform for the Polkadot ecosystem, offering real value.

The KPIs for Milestone 2 are well-defined and have been effectively implemented, with goals successfully met. Therefore, the requested retrospective funding is deemed a reasonable support.

The pending votes suggest that, in line with transparency principles, the proposers should provide clear financial breakdowns, such as receipts for expenses like venue costs.

Overall, the majority of votes are in favor! You can view the full feedback here.
