Hi!
This is a personal comment from my side:

I fully support this proposal, as NFT distribution at Polkadot meetups and other events is a must-have. Through DOTmemo, we are able to invite new users into the ecosystem by encouraging them to download SubWallet or Nova Wallet and claim their NFT memos. This makes DOTmemo a perfect tool for onboarding newcomers to Polkadot and generating additional on-chain activity through NFT minting.

That said, it would be great to see GIF-type NFTs animated in Nova Wallet’s UI as well, not just on Kodadot’s interface: https://kodadot.xyz/ahp/collection/454.

Thank you for your work!
All the best!

DotMemo allowed community members to issue POAPs on Polkadot where no any other dApp made it possible before.

Its been great using the app for our events at Polkadot Africa and easy to use when onboarding new community members to Polkadot.

Damsky and his team are delivering some of the best UX work in the Polkadot ecosystem.

Their product clearly reflects this dedication, offering an outstanding experience for multiple ecosystem agents who need a reliable platform for onboarding new users.

We fully support this proposal and look forward to collaborating with Damsky in the future, ensuring all onboarding experiences in Polkadot maintain this high standard of quality.

PolkaWorld‘s first vote is NAY.

There were two-thirds against and one-third in favor, so the final vote was NAY.

Reasons for opposition:

  1. The project’s actual impact in Phase 1 has not reached a convincing level. For example, v1 mentions 60+ independent creators using the app, but from a tools platform perspective, this data does not provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate its broad ecosystem impact or user stickiness.
  2. Unless this tool shows clear ecosystem irreplaceability or can drive sustained ecosystem growth over the long term, future version upgrades and iterations should not rely entirely on continuous treasury funding.
  3. What can be done with NFTs minted for each event? If they are just collectibles, their value depends entirely on the significance of the events themselves, which is not enough to truly drive user collection interest.
  4. Based on the current data provided, the project lacks persuasiveness. Considering its posting frequency, content quality, and follower count on Twitter, it appears there is virtually no actual community engagement.

Reasons for support:

  1. Distributing POAPs for offline or online events is a small but meaningful action, similar to traditional industry’s user segmentation or points system, which can help build community loyalty and engagement.
  2. The costs are relatively reasonable. Although the budget details are not very granular, the overall cost seems acceptable.
  3. In addition to developing new features, the project clearly sets KPIs for DotMemo usage, reducing the risk of releasing a product without a plan for its future growth.

Dear Proposer,

Thank you for your proposal. Our first vote on this proposal is ABSTAIN.

The Medium Spender track requires 50% quorum and simple majority of non-abstain voters according to our voting policy v0.2, and any referendum in which the majority of members vote abstain receives an abstain vote. This proposal has received three aye and one nay votes from ten available members, with six members abstaining. Below is a summary of our members' comments:

In the referendum, opinions varied among voters regarding the proposed project. Some expressed support, highlighting the potential of POAPs as effective onboarding tools and the team's capability to exceed previous goals. Others abstained, citing uncertainties about the project's impact, return on investment, and market relevance, while acknowledging the low funding request. A few voters pointed out existing infrastructure and questioned the necessity of proof of attendance NFTs, suggesting a preference for exploring more innovative applications of on-chain assets. Overall, the responses reflected a mix of cautious optimism and skepticism.

Truth DAO voted AYE.

Supporters believe this is undoubtedly a highly creative product with a very favorable return on investment, capable of serving as a demo of Polkadot’s core capabilities at various exhibitions.

The team is trustworthy, with a reliable track record of delivery, a clear and phased technical plan, and a reasonable development budget. They look forward to following up on future JAM and PolkaVM development!

While there were some concerns about the long-term value of the NFTs minted for each event, and doubts about the project’s persuasiveness based on the data provided—such as low posting frequency, content quality, and follower count on Twitter, with little real community engagement—overall, the majority voted in favor!
