PolkaWorld vote NAY.

In theory, facilitating a collaboration between Polkadot and Dune is a great initiative. However, in this proposal, the infrastructure costs (Dune + Google Cloud) alone amount to $197,440 USDC for a single quarter—over 83% of the total quarterly budget. We’d really appreciate more clarity on the breakdown of these expenses.

Additionally, while a number of tweets were cited to illustrate community usage, it would be much more helpful—especially coming from a data analytics team—to include concrete usage data from the past year to demonstrate the platform’s impact. For example:
• Page view statistics and which dashboards are most frequently accessed
• Query volumes per parachain
• Growth in dashboard user activity
• Insights into user segmentation and data mining metrics

Lastly, the proposal doesn’t seem to set clear outcome-oriented goals beyond “maintaining existing services.” Without actively leveraging the data to encourage wider adoption or highlight value, it risks remaining a passive offering—available but not proactively driving ecosystem growth.

Dear Proposer,

Thank you for your proposal. Our first vote on this proposal is NAY.

The Big Spender track requires 60% quorum according to our voting policy v0.2, and any referendum in which the majority of members vote abstain receives an abstain vote. This proposal has received zero aye and four nay votes from ten available members, with one member abstaining. Below is a summary of our members' comments:

The voters expressed skepticism about the referendum, primarily questioning the necessity and value of the proposed tool in light of existing resources. Concerns were raised about the clarity of the cost documentation and the justification for the significant funding request, especially given prior financial support for a similar integration. Additionally, the high costs associated with the proposal were viewed as unconvincing compared to alternative options. One voter chose to abstain, highlighting the need for a comparative analysis of integration approaches.

The full discussion can be found in our internal voting.

JAM DAO voted AYE on this proposal. Due to a conflict of interest, Colorful Notion, being a member of JAM DAO, appropriately recused themselves from voting.

The proposer has delivered consistently over the past 18 months, as per Referendum #366. The dashboards and analytics output are well-documented, widely used, and cited in both the Polkadot wiki and across governance discussions.

The focus for the next 3 quarters aligns with the ecosystem's most strategic transition: supporting the migration to Polkadot Hub and Kusama Hub. Targeting the top 12 parachains ensures concentrated coverage on high-impact areas.

JAM DAO supports this as infrastructure critical to OpenGov transparency, developer insight, and community visibility.
