We propose to harden Polkadot and increase its hacking resilience by:

1. Embedding TryState invariants across high-impact pallets, and
2. Launching an OSS-Fuzz-style framework, DotFuzz, for continuous runtime fuzzing, leveraging the invariants to transparently find deep logic bugs in new feature requests.

During the 6-month effort, we will collaborate closely with Polkadot’s core developers and ecosystem stakeholders, with whom this proposal is closely aligned.

The effort’s first value contribution is embedding standardized TryState invariants into Polkadot SDK pallets (starting from prioritized high-impact logic), ensuring that critical code changes are systematically verified. This strengthens the network’s safety without slowing development.

The second pillar involves leveraging industry-leading fuzzing technologies, specifically: Adapting Google’s OSS-Fuzz approach into a Polkadot-specific DotFuzz. The project will reach near-complete coverage of the codebase logic, with robust reporting and a reproducible test corpus that fosters security assurance and continuous improvement at an early development stage.

Funding is sought to support the end-to-end development and deployment of these advanced security capabilities over the course of six months.

Pudgy Penguins is the most beloved and resilient brand in NFTs and digital collectibles. For over a year, we have been developing [Pudgy Party](https://pudgy.party), an immersive Web3 Game, in a partnership with Mythical Games, a leading gaming studio on Polkadot. As we are getting close to the game launch, as part of our go-to-market strategy, we would like to tie the iconic Pudgy Penguins directly to the Polkadot ecosystem. Pudgy Party is therefore not just another game; it's Polkadot's gateway to mainstream adoption, transforming it from an infrastructure powerhouse into a leading consumer-facing brand in Web3, that millions of people will interact with daily.

Pudgy Penguins originated in July 2021 as an Ethereum-based NFT collection of 8,888 uniquely designed, chubby penguin avatars, launched by four college students amid the NFT boom. Initially facing challenges, including community distrust and market volatility, the project was revitalized in 2022 when entrepreneur Luca Netz acquired it for $2.5 million and turned it into a global consumer brand. Under Netz's leadership, Pudgy Penguins expanded beyond digital assets into physical merchandise, including plush toys sold in major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon, generating millions in revenue and establishing it as a pop culture icon. The brand now boasts over 8 million social media followers, a dedicated community-driven ecosystem, and innovative initiatives like the $PENGU token, Pudgy Learn (an educational platform for Web3 concepts through gamified experiences), and the PudgyPals mobile app that bridges physical toys with digital interactions. Achievements include partnerships with major brands, a path to billion-dollar valuation potential, and a remarkable turnaround story that has made it one of the most loyal and viral communities in Web3, often compared to mainstream sensations like Pokémon or Hello Kitty for its cross-generational appeal.

## Mythical Games

Mythical Games, founded in 2018 by industry veterans including CEO John Linden, is a venture-backed pioneer at the intersection of video games and blockchain economics. Besides Pudgy Party – the focus of this proposal – Mythical has developed blockbuster Web3 titles such as NFL Rivals (which surpassed 5 million users), FIFA Rivals (achieving 1 million downloads in record time upon its 2025 release), and Blankos Block Party. These successes demonstrate Mythical's expertise in creating engaging, mainstream-appealing games that seamlessly integrate blockchain for true digital ownership, player economies, and rewards. The studio's track record includes multiple games hitting million-download milestones, strategic licensing deals with global IPs like the NFL and FIFA, and a focus on accessible Web3 mechanics that attract both crypto natives and traditional gamers.



# Details of the Partnership 

The budget requested as part of this proposal, is entirely for go-to-market of Pudgy Party on Polkadot, not for the development of the game, which is already funded from other sources (see budget breakdown below). 

We believe this strategic partnership represents a tremendous opportunity for Polkadot. Mythical's Mythos Chain, which migrated to Polkadot as a parachain in 2024, has brought over 5 million users into the ecosystem while leveraging Polkadot's flexible EVM compatibility and robust security to handle high-throughput gaming applications. Pudgy Party, which will be built entirely on Mythos Chain and powered by $MYTH tokens secured by Polkadot, will combine the community loyalty of Pudgy Penguins with Mythical's game development prowess and Polkadot’s security architecture. Imagine for example, the addictive, multiplayer fun of Fall Guys—complete with customizable Pudgy avatars, chaotic party modes, and real-time competitions—infused with Web3 elements like NFT ownership, token rewards, and in-game asset trading on-chain. **Short description:** *Gossamer was originally envisioned as a Go-based implementation of the Polkadot Relay Chain Validator, contributing to the decentralization and resilience of the network through client diversity and broader technological accessibility. # Context of the Proposal
The Gossamer team at ChainSafe is a group of technical experts engaging in protocol-level implementations for the Polkadot ecosystem. The team has formerly received funding from the Web3 Foundation and the Polkadot Treasury and has also been temporarily self-funded through ChainSafe.

This proposal is a request for **six months** of funding **(equally split to bi-monthly milestones)** from the Polkadot Treasury for the collaboration of the Gossamer team and Parity to work on the Polkadot protocol's (polkadot-sdk) pressing needs. The ecosystem is rapidly evolving, and a lot of change is to be expected. We are therefore adopting a six-month proposal cycle to maintain agility and responsiveness to best serve the ecosystem.

In this funding period, as detailed in Section 2 (Scope of Current Proposal), we will dedicate resources to the needs of the polkadot-sdk by addressing key technical priorities identified in collaboration with Parity. Our focus will be on areas where our team’s expertise can deliver the greatest impact - enhancing scalability, performance, and protocol robustness. - Snowbridge is a bridge between Polkadot and Ethereum.  
- It has been working well for over a year with no problems.  
- It is now used by 24 parachains, wallets, and apps.  
- It has over $75M in value locked, making it the second biggest in Polkadot.  
- The team wants to improve it with faster transfers and better tools.  
- They are asking for $2.8M to fund the next year of work.  
- Some money is for past work, and some is for future improvements.

**Update Aug 5th:**

This is a new proposal is intended to replace our previous [ref ](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referenda/1682 "1682")[1682](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referenda/1682 "1682"). We have made some changes to address feedback that we've received. The changes are as follows:

* The majority of funds are paid in stablecoins.
* Our runway payment is split into 2 payments, now with only the first half up front and the remaining half in 6 months.
* Our failed payment has been removed from this proposal and will be submitted in a separate proposal.

Our final payment on-delivery has been left as is in DOT at \~116k DOT. This should still only be paid out if we complete all our milestones on time and the payment can be cancelled by OpenGov at any time before then if they’re not happy.

We believe that keeping this in DOT signals our team’s commitment to DOT’s success - asking for DOT is an economic risk that the team willingly makes to enhance incentive alignment. The DOT amount is also far smaller than in our original proposal and will not have a significant impact on the treasury’s DOT holdings.

Snowbridge, a trustless Polkadot-Ethereum bridge, has been now been live for over a year, running successfully with **no onchain issues and zero onchain downtime**. With our launch, we shifted to doing extensive marketing and business development work — the main milestone in our 2024 proposal was to successfully integrate with 6 parachains and we’ve radically surpassed that milestone:

This proposal is for a roadmap for the next year that covers:

* Deploying V2, an overhaul of our protocol with many new improvements
* Adding support for major Ethereum L2 chains
* Support for single-click, multi-hop swap and bridge transactions
* Simplifying the SDK developer experience and documentation
* Optimizing our light client for faster, cheaper bridging - down to 1-2 minutes for Polkadot -> Ethereum transfers.
* Giving OpenGov new superpowers that it can use to poach liquidity from Ethereum products
* Ramping up support for stablecoins and improve the UX of stablecoin-based payment flows
* Improving our consumer-targeted marketing efforts
* Improve the decentralisation of our off-chain components
* Continuing to operate, secure and keep the bridge up to date

The cost for this roadmap is **\~$1.87M.** The proposal also includes an additional **$937.5k** retroactive payment for completed past milestones. This brings the total cost of this proposal to **\~$2.8M**.

**Short description:** *Gossamer was originally envisioned as a Go-based implementation of the Polkadot Relay Chain Validator, contributing to the decentralization and resilience of the network through client diversity. Our team, deeply committed to the Polkadot ecosystem, built Gossamer as an alternative full node and validator client to help ensure the robustness of the protocol.*
**However**, as the ecosystem's needs have changed, it's become clear that alternative client development is not currently a top priority. In light of this, we’ve made a strategic decision to shift our focus from developing an alternative client to contributing directly to the existing Rust-based SDK implementation. This change aligns with both the direction of the ecosystem and our desire to maximize our impact on Polkadot’s core infrastructure.
Following consultations with Parity, we have defined a set of objectives that our team will focus on over the next six months. These efforts, in close collaboration with Parity, will leverage our experience to contribute to the Polkadot-SDK's most critical areas, helping to strengthen, optimize, and scale the protocol at its foundation.

# Context of the Proposal
The Gossamer team at ChainSafe is a group of technical experts engaging in protocol-level implementations for the Polkadot ecosystem. The team has formerly received funding from the Web3 Foundation and the Polkadot Treasury and has also been temporarily self-funded through ChainSafe.
This proposal is a request for six months of funding from the Polkadot Treasury for the collaboration of the Gossamer team and Parity to work on the Polkadot protocol's (polkadot-sdk) pressing needs. The ecosystem is rapidly evolving, and a lot of change is to be expected. We are therefore adopting a six-month proposal cycle to maintain agility and responsiveness to best serve the ecosystem.
In this funding period, as detailed in Section 2 (Scope of Current Proposal), we will dedicate resources to the needs of the polkadot-sdk by addressing key technical priorities identified in collaboration with Parity. Our focus will be on areas where our team’s expertise can deliver the greatest impact - enhancing scalability, performance, and protocol robustness. This marks a natural evolution of our role within the ecosystem, transitioning from client diversity through Gossamer to strengthening the core infrastructure that supports the Polkadot network. We aim to showcase our work in the remainder of 2025 and early 2026 in the same way we did in 2024.

**1. Introduction & Background**

The Polkadot Assurance Legion (PAL) is a community-driven initiative dedicated to making Polkadot a safer and more attractive platform for builders and users. By allocating funds from the Polkadot Treasury, PAL supports a range of security-focused activities critical for Polkadot's health and growth. With PAL, Polkadot is the only ecosystem that allocates a portion of its on-chain treasury to enhance the security of the ecosystem, thereby investing in its long-term security, stability, and success.

Since the start of 2024, PAL has co-funded **25 audits**, which have helped identify and resolve **133 on-chain vulnerabilities**, of which **27** were classified as **critical or high-risk**. Furthermore, PAL has funded the development of a [static-analysis tool](https://dotpal.io/security_tooling#scout-by-coinfabrik) and is just about to fund the development of a [comprehensive ecosystem monitoring tool](https://dotpal.io/rfp/2501/).

At the time of writing, the balance of the PAL [Bounty #22](https://polkadot.subsquare.io/treasury/bounties/22) stands at approximately 177,800 DOT. Here is a breakdown of the spending so far (not including 2025 Q1 as the numbers are not final):

* **2025 Q2 (final report pending):** Total 50,990 DOT (Audits: 32,793 DOT; Tooling: 4,424 DOT; Curator Salaries: 13,773 DOT);

**3. Top-Up Justification**

Considering the past spending behaviour outlined above, and the anticipated future demand for security services, we would like to request a top-up of the PAL bounty with 500,000 DOT.

The funds currently remaining in the bounty provide sufficient albeit limited leeway for the upcoming months. In the next weeks, we will initiate payouts for the development of the ecosystem monitoring tool, which will have a total cost in the range of $200,000 to $250,000 (delivered via milestones of up to $50,000). Besides several ecosystem projects expressing interest in audit co-funding, we expect an uplift in demand due to the launch of EVM smart contracts on Polkadot Hub, which (hopefully) will be audited by their deployers. Furthermore, we would like to continue funding open-source security tools that benefit the Polkadot ecosystem.

According to our knowledge, the requested top-up should allow PAL to continue its operations uninterrupted for at least another 12-18 months (depending on factors such as DOT valuation).

A well-funded PAL directly contributes to:

The Polkadot Community Foundation (PCF) is a bridge between the Polkadot network's on-chain governance and real-world actions. It helps DOT holders influence off-chain activities. In its first year, the PCF worked on projects to grow the Polkadot ecosystem and market outreach. Now, it asks for more funding to continue its work.

The PCF has goals for its second year, like appointing two DOT directors and creating a transparent information hub. It wants to expand leadership and community engagement. The PCF also needs money for legal and insurance costs.

If the proposal is not approved, the PCF will have to wind down its operations, which could cause disruptions to ongoing projects and the need to find new ways to manage off-chain activities.

Gossamer is a team that works on Polkadot Relay Chain Validator using the Go programming language. They want to make the network better by being a full node and a validator node. They are asking for money to keep working on their project for six months. They will focus on building alternative implementations of Polkadot validator, JAM implementation, and improving Collator functionality. Gossamer has received funding before and they want to keep helping the Polkadot ecosystem grow. They will share updates on their progress every month.

- Snowbridge is a bridge for Polkadot that connects to Ethereum and other networks.  
- It helps move money and messages safely between different blockchains.

We've been speaking to various stakeholders and taken note of the comments above. We’d like to share a few updates and changes to the proposal that we believe address concerns and align our team’s efforts with growth and TVL creation for Polkadot. The updates fall into three areas:

To date, our roadmap has blended engineering and BD. Going forward, we’re shifting focus **primarily toward growth and ecosystem value creation** to increase Polkadot TVL.

# **2. Cost Model & Incentives**

## **Costs**

A common theme in feedback was cost transparency — here's a breakdown:

* **2024 Costs: \~$2.2M**
 * Covers a 5-person team, travel, infrastructure/relayers/gas, audits, software, and legal/admin/payroll/accounting company margins.
* **2025 Projections:** Similar costs, focused on growth engineering, developer advocacy, and ecosystem support.
* **Longer-Term:** We expect to gradually downsize into maintenance/support mode at **\< $1M/year**, and even lower once the Polkadot Hub / Bridge Hub merge matures. The long-term cost to the treasury should be minimal unless further growth is pursued — which would be optional.

## **Incentives**

**Proposal Breakdown ($5M):**

* **$1M:** Milestone Vesting *(this is for work already completed 2 years ago, still vesting due to us agreeing to a 2-year vesting period)*
* **$300k:** Failed payment
* **$3.7M:** Long-term incentive funding

The **2025 incentive ask is effectively $1.5M** over and above our base costs.

We believe this is fair: the incentive structure was set 4 years ago, passed via multiple governance votes, and was based on concrete deliverables — notably, integrations across the ecosystem. The goal was 9; we did heavy B2B marketing and BD work and **we’ve delivered 24+,** and aided in wider Asset Hub and XCM adoption efforts.

**Snowbridge also ranks #2 in TVL across all Polkadot protocols, second only to Hydration.**

While \~$60M TVL is just a start, we’re aligned with the community in pushing that higher this year. Reducing pre-agreed and achieved incentives at this stage would feel like a rug pull — but we're committed to making things work and believe the shift to growth focus reflects that.

# **3. Comparisons and Context**

We’ve also seen questions about how our funding compares to others:

When Snowbridge began, other bridge projects were raising $10M+ with token upside in the tens of millions. We had similar offers — but chose instead to build Snowbridge as a **public good**, foregoing tokenomics and focusing on light-client integrity and Ethereum interoperability, which we believe serves Polkadot best.

Closer to home, Hyperbridge raised \~$6M, and their 20% team token allocation is likely to result in $10M+ total with even a modest token market cap.

Note: We do fully support Hyperbridge. We share a belief that well-funded core infrastructure efforts are still positive-sum for the ecosystem and we’re simply highlighting this to provide context for our proposal ask, which remains in line with or even below market norms for teams delivering comparable value.

## Overview

Snowbridge ([https://app.snowbridge.network/](https://app.snowbridge.network/)) has now been live for almost a year, running successfully with no on chain issues and zero on chain downtime. It’s the longest running and most complex public goods project in the Polkadot ecosystem outside of Parity itself and since launch has become critical to the Polkadot ecosystem.

Snowbridge is the only fully trustless bridge in the ecosystem - meaning it is both fully governed by Polkadot itself and fully owned by the Polkadot Treasury as a system that can facilitate further growth and value flow into the treasury.

 * Helping Mythical launch their parachain, bridging over all their ERC20 tokens
 * Hydration integration with plans for their upcoming incentive program.
 * Major efforts towards Polkadot hub, integrating with Asset Hub and driving adoption of Asset Hub along with support in developing wallet integrations
 * Collaboration on design of XCMv5 and supporting XCM adoption in general.
 * StellaSwap integration and their newly launched liquidity program&#x20;

We’re also expecting a burst of additional TVL soon, as some new key assets and stablecoins will soon launch on Hydration and other chains.

## **Year in Review and Purpose of Proposal**

Our team has continued to ship tons of features and improvements for Snowbridge over the last year including significant cost and performance improvements, developer tooling for integrations and a major re-architecture into Snowbridge V2 for much improved arbitrary messaging support.

# **Context of the proposal**

As many of you may know, at Polkadot Decoded last year (2024) Björn Wagner [teased the new Polkadot App](https://youtu.be/dvXDTfR_wy0?si=aDLM5BRP4KUUT4vM\&t=763). This is a very exciting product which has been a long time in the making and plans to deliver an easy, beginner-friendly mobile wallet (and more) for newcomers to crypto and Polkadot. This product is published by the [Polkadot Community Foundation (PCF)](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/treasury/820).

This proposal seeks to obtain funding for the next 6 months of software development, marketing personnel, tooling and legal costs. This proposal is separate to Ref #1082 which sought for the PCF to own the IP of the Polkadot App, publish the app and to enter into third party relationships with providers where required. This is already in progress.

The funding under this proposal will allow the PCF to release the product, and progress with building future scope to improve the product over the duration of the funding. Whilst the project is behind schedule from when it was originally announced, the app is almost ready and there will be more information coming soon as to the launch date.

Previously all research, design, development and legal costs have been paid directly or indirectly by the Web3 Foundation. Many of these roles and activities will still be covered by the W3F directly or indirectly. This proposal seeks alignment with the community around the ongoing development of the product.

**Why and who is this important for?**

The Polkadot App will be a key onboarding vehicle for Polkadot, the best place for a beginner to start with Polkadot and crypto in general.

NFTMozaic is starting a new program to help early-stage NFT projects on Polkadot. They want to give money to about 20 projects that focus on users and brands. [NFTMozaic](https://nftmozaic.com/) is launching an outcome-focused **Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Grants Program to support early-stage, consumer-facing, brand-centric NFT dApps on Polkadot**.

This program will mainly focus on **building applications that drive user adoption** - B2C, with most of the dApps being on Polkadot Asset Hub.

We will define a separate program and guidance as needed for larger projects with an existing user base, and are committed to integrating Polkadot or driving their next growth phase with Polkadot.

Unlike traditional grants, NFTMozaic ties 70% of funding to user-onboarding campaigns and user-onboarding metrics, such as wallet creation and on-chain activity, ensuring MVPs lead to adoption, not just demos.

Projects **must deliver a usable MVP with one complete user journey** and allocate 15–20% of their grant to marketing, driving actual usage from day one of launch.

KAGOME Treasury Proposal 4 is a plan to improve the diversity of Polkadot clients. KAGOME is a C++ version of the Polkadot Host, which helps make the Polkadot and Kusama networks safer and more innovative. This proposal wants to add new features to KAGOME and make sure it works well with Polkadot-SDK. 

The proposal has two main parts:
1. Security assessment of new features by SRLabs.
2. Adding new features to KAGOME, like faster erasure coding, networking improvements, and tests.

Quadrivium, the company behind KAGOME, and SRLabs, a security company, are asking for 981,800 USDC to complete this proposal. Quadrivium is a blockchain company that works on clients and peer-to-peer networking tools. SRLabs is a company that helps make sure blockchains are safe and secure.

# **KAGOME treasury proposal 4: Enhancing Polkadot clients diversity**

## **Context of proposal**

[KAGOME](https://github.com/qdrvm/kagome) is a C++ implementation of the[ Polkadot Host that](https://wiki.polkadot.network/docs/learn-polkadot-host) brings clients diversity to Polkadot and Kusama networks mitigating risks associated with fatal bugs, fostering innovation, and expanding the development community. 

During [Milestone 3](https://polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/925), the final features for complete Polkadot-SDK node compatibility were implemented. Consequently, KAGOME became the first alternative Polkadot Host implementation to participate in Polkadot's validating set. Future cohorts of the Decentralized Nodes program aim to have more node operators running KAGOME ([link](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NOkXMSAOYYgm_NCEzuTCKE-rl5MnlaZD3FN8v0otYbc/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.yagc8jqu1d54)) which will increase the portion of validators running alternative clients in the network leading to higher network resilience and stability.

The scope of this proposal is targeting implementation of new RFCs in KAGOME as well as necessary features to keep KAGOME compatible with Polkadot-SDK. 

This is a joint proposal with our long term partners SRLabs, who are helping us with the security assessment of KAGOME to give confidence to node operators. Quadrivium is also developing a JAM client alongside KAGOME. 

However, multiple Polkadot Host implementations are important today, particularly because KAGOME already works with the Polkadot SDK. Additionally, alternative clients such as KAGOME offer a valuable opportunity for Polkadot to prepare for supporting multiple clients following the JAM upgrade, which we expect to happen no sooner than in a year or two.

KAGOME – the C++ implementation of Polkadot Host milestone 4

Polkadot Storage has a new long-term plan to improve their storage system. They have completed 90% of phase 3 and are testing it in a private testnet. They will soon move to a public testnet and work on integrating it with the mainnet. Here are some of the new ideas they have for phase 4:

1. Jam Integration: They want to use their storage for Jam DA resupply and let any Jam Service use their long-term storage.
2. Light weight proof system: They want to offer a cheaper and lighter proof system for users who don't need strong guarantees.
3. Replication: They are working on moving from full replication to something like Erasure coding for better efficiency.
4. Legal: They are exploring responsibilities and liabilities when dealing with toxic data.
5. Economic model: They are researching the best numbers for slashing, storage costs, retrieval costs, and pricing to be competitive with centralized solutions. They also want to allow the use of restaked DOT.
6. XCM: They want to expose the storage so that other parachains can store data.
7. Marketplace model: They are thinking of the storage layer as a marketplace that gives access to all forms of competing centralized and decentralized storage.

Overall, they want to turn this into a proper storage product and build applications on top of it. They are excited about the potential and attention on storage lately.

Hey everyone, we are back with an improved long term plan for Polkadot Storage.



Last December, [phase 3 got rejected](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referenda/1313) during confirmation with a very narrow margin. Work has continued uninterrupted and we now have over 90% of phase 3 completed. We are testing the system in our private testnet and will move to a public testnet soon. Integration with mainnet has been postponed because of the JAM integration plans and we’ll continue improving tools and interfaces. During this time we have also been working with Parity and with their guidance have improved our long term approach. These ideas have been incorporated into Phase 4:



Jam Integration

* Using our storage for Jam DA resupply.
* Service Integration so that any Jam Service can use our long term storage.

Light weight proof system

* This was first initially flagged by Lucky Friday (thank you) and we later refined it during conversations with Parity. In short, our initial proof system protects against outsourcing attacks but it's also heavy and expensive. We wanna offer an alternative lighter proof system for users who don't need guarantees like that, at a much lower price.
* Merkle Proofs + zk-SNARKs
* Make the network work with multiple proof systems, let power users choose the proof system/guarantees they want.

Replication

* We added a naive version for now.
* Move from full replication to for example Erasure coding.
* Something like what Walrus uses “Twin-Code” or Reed Solomon error correction

Legal

* Explore responsibilities and liabilities when dealing with toxic data.

Economic model:

* Slashing - Although we have slashing implemented, we need to do some research on what the best numbers should be.
* Storage costs - Modeling the costs and income model for providers.
* Retrieval - Research retrieval costs to mitigate bandwidth attacks.

Overall the plan is to turn this into a proper Storage product and build applications on top. With so much potential and attention on storage lately, it's an exciting time to build.

Polkadot Storage Phase 3

Bifrost has proposed a liquidity loan to the Polkadot treasury, requesting a loan of 1,000,000 DOT (about $4,000,000) to be repaid with 6% interest. This loan aims to increase vDOT-DOT liquidity, support vDOT growth, and expand its use in DeFi applications within the Polkadot ecosystem. Bifrost has a good track record of repaying treasury loans with interest, having brought a total income of 8,370.5523 KSM to the Kusama Treasury. The loan will be used to mint vDOT, diversifying the Polkadot treasury's DOT capital and earning staking rewards. Bifrost is a liquid staking app-chain for all blockchains, allowing users to earn staking rewards and DeFi yields across multiple chains. The loan's success will be measured by tracking vDOT minting TVL, DOT-vDOT liquidity growth, unique address growth rate, and new vDOT ecosystem integrations.

We're a group of blockchain builders and entrepreneurs building on web3 stack for the past 7 years, based in the Netherlands.

### Technical Innovation:

While building the Suprime platform, we took the best and most mature tools out there, added a layer of customization, and built the pieces we were missing, to have one single solid solution:

\- connected 'weighted' Balancer pools implementation, to add the fundraising feature

\- added 'social' element (Lens protocol WIP)

### Technical Feasibility:

We were building Suprime for over a year, self funded, and just released an MVP (see the walkthrough video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMXsBFwnR1w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMXsBFwnR1w)).

All the technical components are built there and operational, deployed on Sepolia (you can give it a try [https://test.suprime.io/)](https://test.suprime.io/)

Once we secure strategic partnerships and the technical audit is done, we're ready to deploy it to Polkadot ecosystem

### Product-Market Fit:

Suprime's audience has 3 types of personas:

\- **startup founders**. They will have a place to list their idea, in a permissionless way, no private chats or inquiries required and the chance of a great idea being lost to the noisiest ones is less

\- **VCs and funds** will benefit from the help of the community - potential leads are already sorted out, so less time is required to find a potential gem. Also, if a lead is secured, they will benefit long run from the help of community and connected services and advisors

\- **retail investors** will be able to 'be early' but this time for real, not because they're told so.

No solution on the market solves all these issues together. There are tools out there, like launchpads but they don't care about success long run. Echo.xyz is kinda similar, but investors have to trust promises of 'leads', and the platform has no transparency whatsoever. Despite that, they helped to raise $105M from 8k unique investors, so the demand is there.

### Growth & Monetization:

The investment and startup acceleration market is huge but heavily depends on the market condition, so we expect ups and downs when designing the treasury burn rate.

We see Suprime platform as an addition to the existing web3 accelerators and VC funds, that would serve as a tech partner, so we could build up the distribution quickly.

### Funding:

We've built an MVP and spent around 13 months, using 100% of own funds. During that time, we had two FTEs, and multiple part-time contributors, from marketing, market research, and design. Total expenses at the moment are $85k.

We're looking for an extra round of funds to move it to the next level, and:

* establish a strategic partnership with funds and accelerators, who share same vision of transparency and trustless business models
* make the solution feature-complete, and rollover it to Polkadot

Suprime - Fully Decentralized Accelerator

Cyberpunk Lab is an innovative project that aims to advance humanoid robotics, artificial intelligence, and decentralized technologies. With locations in San Francisco and Shenzhen, the lab will develop a Polkadot Humanoid Robot SDK to integrate robots with the Polkadot Cloud. The initiative will demonstrate Polkadot's technological capabilities, drive network utility and adoption, expand the developer community, and strengthen decentralization and security for IoT/Robotics.

The project's objectives include:

The Cyberpunk Lab will develop the Humanoid Robot SDK, test AI models, explore robotics in arts, research on robotics deliberation, create documentation and demos, source open-source contributions, and engage with the community. The lab requests $618,000 from the Polkadot treasury for a 1-year project duration, with $250,000 allocated for hardware procurement and $368,000 for operating expenses. The project will be launched in 2025 and operate for at least 12 months.

Cyberpunk Lab is a bold initiative to push the boundaries of humanoid robotics, artificial intelligence, and decentralized technologies. ## **1\. Executive Summary**

We are robotics engineers from the [Robonomics team](https://x.com/AIRA_Robonomics). We build trustless physical infrastructure — including RISC-V open hardware, peer-to-peer connectivity, and a Polkadot-based Rollup for IoT and Robotics since Jan'2022.

We are exploring the capabilities of humanoid robots since December 2024 when a Unitree G1 humanoid robot [named Turbo](https://x.com/r_turb0) became a part of our team. On January 9, 2025, at CES in Las Vegas, Turbo became the first humanoid robot to ever earn money — and it was in $XRT, the native token of our Polkadot rollup:

These machines will work alongside people in factories/warehouses, public spaces and in our homes—handling tasks from lifting boxes to assisting the elderly. And complex robotics systems like humanoids require extensive cloud infrastructure, encompassing computation, digital twins, identity solutions, and file storage. But most current robots rely on centralized clouds for commands and updates, which introduces latency, downtime risks, and security vulnerabilities.

Decentralized systems solve this by enabling robots to communicate peer-to-peer, using cryptography for fast and secure messaging and blockchains to bundle commands, sensor data, and payments into a single tamper-proof transaction. A practical example: a service robot could receive a task, verify the requester’s identity, get paid, and report completion—all without ever needing a central server. This isn’t just faster and safer—it’s the only way to scale when billions of robots are operating in real time across the globe.

Humanoid robots are ideal for showcasing Polkadot's technological capabilities. And quite possibly **_humanoid robots will be the largest blockspace consumers_** .

Polkadot is currently the best technology stack for building Web3 applications for Robotics and IoT, thanks to its unique combination of flexible application development with Polkadot SDK (we were able to enable IoT subscriptions not possible otherwise), a shared security ecosystem, and the upcoming Polkadot 2.0 enhancements (elastic scaling, asynchronous backing and agile coretime) first introduced at [Spammening](https://polkadot.com/spammening/).

By combining the most advanced robots with the power of Polkadot Cloud, we are pioneering a framework that enables secure, autonomous, and trustless machine interactions. The lab will serve as a proving ground, where researchers, artists, and developers co-create, test, and validate real-world applications, setting the stage for the next wave of technological evolution. With the rapid development pace in humanoid robotics, we aim to define the place of Polkadot as a market leader in this space and bring a set of complementary benefits to the community.

🔹 A Living Example of Open Governance Cyberpunk Lab is not just funded through Polkadot’s OpenGov—it is a showcase of transparent, community-driven governance in action. From on-chain progress reports from robots directly to community-driven decision-making on behaviour training, we aim to involve the community in our work to directly shape the future of autonomous labor.

## 3\. Activities

**_Develop the Humanoid Robot SDK_** : We will create an open-source Software Development Kit (SDK) enabling humanoid robots to connect to the Polkadot Cloud. The SDK will include libraries and APIs for robot control commands, telemetry data exchange, on-chain identity management, and secure transaction signing from within a robot’s software. Designed to be Polkadot-native—compatible with parachains and runtime modules—and robot-agnostic, the SDK will support a range of humanoid platforms including open-source and commercial systems. The SDK is a foundational step toward making robots autonomous economic agents. For example, you pay a robot to bring you a drink by sending it a single transaction. This marks a breakthrough moment for Web3: real-world robotics driven by decentralized infrastructure. It positions Polkadot at the forefront of blockchain’s convergence with AI and robotics, generating media coverage, global attention, and industry engagement.

**_AI Model Testing_** : The lab will support experimentation with the latest AI methods on real humanoid robots, like deep reinforcement learning and imitation learning, the two most common approaches now. There is a miriad of approaches researchers try now to quickly teach humanoid robots new skills (continual learning, multi-modal learning, large behavior models, vision-language-action pipelines, diffusion-based planning, internal world models, and sim2real transfer techniques) and our goal is to offer a set of hardware where researchers can test and benchmark their models on. Polkadot’s infrastructure will be used to enable remote access, transparent storage of training data, and auditable performance benchmarking, opening a new frontier for reproducible robotics research.

**_Robotics Experiential Arts_** : We will also push the boundary of robotics in the arts, showcasing humanoid robots as performers and creators within the Polkadot ecosystem. This includes robot-led painting, music, theater, dance, and interactive exhibitions, both physical and in mixed or virtual reality. We draw inspiration from existing work such as a [retired KUKA arm reimagined as a painter](https://www.media.mit.edu/publications/gaka-chu-a-self-employed-autonomous-robot-artist/), collaborations with [Boston Dynamics' Spot for NFT art](https://robonomics.network/blog/spot-nft-valentines-season/), and robotic [telescopes livestreamed from Chile](https://robonomics.network/blog/online-winter-school-2022-lesson-telescope/). These experiences will blend culture and code, highlighting the expressive power of robots as agents in Web3.

**_Research on Robotics Deliberation_** : We will explore the design of autonomous robotic agents that set goals, plan with uncertainty, evaluate consequences, adapt strategies, and model their environments in real time. This includes developing the concept of economically autonomous robots that operate inside the Polkadot ecosystem—making independent decisions based on market signals, optimizing for incentives, and reducing reliance on centralized control. These robots will serve as a testbed for long-term research on decentralized AI coordination.

**_Documentation and Demos_** : Comprehensive documentation will cover everything from SDK architecture and APIs to integration guides and example applications. To illustrate real-world applications, we will develop at least two demo scenarios: one where a humanoid robot acts as a delivery agent, receiving on-chain payment to fetch an item; and another where a robot attends an event based on a DAO vote, acting as a telepresence avatar. These use cases are both functional prototypes and public showcases, highlighting the potential of combining robotics with decentralized coordination. All results, code, and findings will be openly published. The Cyberpunk Lab is not only funded through OpenGov—it becomes a living demonstration of community-driven governance. On-chain progress reports signed directly by robots will reflect transparent development and serve as a case study in how Web3 can support ambitious, real-world R&D.

**_Sourcing Open-Source Contributions_** : Development will be fully public and participatory from day one. The SDK repository will be open-sourced immediately, with regular updates, community feedback loops, and technical livestreams to document progress. We will organize workshops, hackathons, and developer challenges to foster grassroots adoption and expand the contributor base. The goal is not just to deliver code but to build a living, evolving developer ecosystem. The SDK will serve as an entry point for robotics developers—many of whom have never engaged with Web3—to explore the Polkadot stack. By offering clear documentation and streamlined tooling, we lower the barrier and attract fresh talent, spark innovation, and open doors to new commercial collaborations with robotics companies.

**_Community Engagement_** : Public-facing initiatives will include livestreams, lab tours, and open forums. A dedicated robotics-themed floor in a [16-story “vertical village” in San Francisco](https://x.com/vitl2907/status/1904771428437950787) will serve as the physical home of the Cyberpunk Lab, creating an immersive environment for visitors, students, and collaborators. These efforts aim to build a strong, visible, and engaged community around humanoid robotics and Polkadot—one that bridges technical innovation with cultural imagination. We will also colaborate closely with the BitRobot's Lab in China to share equipment, community and knowledge.

## 4\. Budget

We request funding to cover the **_1-year project duration of building a Polkadot Humanoid Robot SDK_** , including personnel, equipment, and lab necessary expenses.

The total budget the **_Cyberpunk Lab requests from the treasury_** is **_$618,000_** , with $250,000 allocated for hardware procurement and $368,000 for operating expenses.

This lab is developed in partnership with [BitRobot Network](https://bitrobot.ai/) that will match the funding with an additional $250,000 for hardware and will be covering their own expenses.

### Hardware Procurement ($500k total, including $250k from Polkadot Treasury and $250k from BitRobot):

Exact hardware is subject to change as robotics market is evolving quickly and new players enter the market rapidly. We already own 1 Unitree G1 humanoid and Boston Dynamics Spot robodog that we start Cyberpunk Lab with. We plan to focus on promising brands that have the best GTM strategy, cost-value parameters and technical readiness. These robots are in the short list to be added to the Cyberpunk Lab:

    -   Computing Units and Sensors: ~$20,000 – High-performance computing hardware for the robot and development.
    -   Tools & Miscellaneous Hardware: ~$10,000 – Tools for assembly and testing (electronics tools, 3D printer or printed parts, replacement components), as well as any other accessories needed during development (cables, mounts, etc.). This also acts as a small contingency for hardware repairs or upgrades over the project life.

### Operating Expenses ($368,000):

-   Salaries: $348,000

Personnel (Salaries) – We have a team of 6 ready to deliver on the project for 12 months. This category is the largest cost, reflecting the intensive R&D effort proposed.

-   Software & Cloud Services – $20,000: While the software developed will be mostly custom and open-source, we account for any external services needed. This includes possible cloud server costs for hosting test networks or simulations, paid licenses or APIs (if needed for robot simulation environments or special libraries), and continuous integration infrastructure for the project. For example, using a cloud robotics simulation service or extra storage for on-chain data logging during tests might incur costs.
    
-   Marketing & Events – we will host regular meetups and events around Cyberpunk Lab as a part of our normal activity, but we will also be working with Events and Marketing bounties to promote the Cyberpunk Lab activities for a broader audience
    

## 5\. Timeline

The Cyberpunk Lab will be launched in 2025 and will operate for at least 12 months. Polkadot Humanoid Robot SDK will be built and tested in this time. Our goal is to establish a business model around hardware renting and a large enough community around it that will allow us to maintain the Cyberpunk Lab in operation in perpetuity.

The Polkadot Humanoid Robot SDK will provide robotics developers with a set of tools and libraries for:

1.  Telemetry
2.  Identity
3.  Computing
4.  Payments
5.  DeFi and RWA Integration

We are have identified these projects now to engage with, but will pick the final partners as we proceed with the SDK development:

Asset Hub, Hydration, Polkadot Pay, Acurast, Phala, Crust, Frequency, KILT, and Robonomics.

The project timeline includes the following key milestones:

-   Month 1-3: Procurement, setup, researchers’ work, and first demos. Telemetry Module of SDK - Securely transmitting robot telemetry data on Web3 platforms and storing it in distributed storage.
-   Month 4-6: Multiple permanent location available for experience. Identity and Compute Modules of SDK. Establishing unique digital identities for humanoid robots on the Polkadot network. Utilizing distributed computing resources on the Polkadot network for AI processing and complex calculations.
-   Month 7-9: Benchmarking all new ML models on our hardware to become the credible source of truth on humanoid training. Payments to robots happening both online and in our physical locations, Polkadot Pay module of SDK. Gaming and social media collaborations. Integrating robots into the cryptoeconomy, enabling them to autonomously conduct transactions, facilitating secure and transparent payments between humans and robots using stablecoins.
-   Month 10-12: RWA and finanincing of humanoids - an novel asset class on Polkadot. DeFi/robocorp module of SDK. Exploring the integration of decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world assets (RWA) with humanoid robots, enabling new business models and applications to finance hardware. A Version 1.0 Polkadot Humanoid Robot SDK that robotics developers can start using to access Polkadot Cloud.

Polkadot ecosystem has teams working on all aspects of this SDK and we have already worked with most of them. We will test the functionality of all modules on the physical hardware from the most commonly used humanoid robot brands.

The Cyberpunk Lab represents a unique opportunity to advance the field of robotics and Web3 integration. By developing a Polkadot Humanoid Robot SDK, this initiative will foster innovation, collaboration, and the creation of new applications that benefit our community and society at large.
