Hello,

Could you mention the metrics obtained from the Polkadot Sales Hub and if there's any way to measure the ROI generated?

What collaboration are you having with other databases in the ecosystem?

Thanks

Over the past year, I’ve been involved in a number of business development (BD) conversations focused on solving some of the ecosystem’s most persistent challenges - particularly around coordination, clarity, and shared tools. This proposal represents a meaningful and strategic step toward addressing those needs.

I had the opportunity to meet with both Natalie and Jashar at sub0 in Bangkok, where I first saw the early work that would become Project 1090. The evolution of that effort into the current Polkadot Sales Hub - delivered through OpenGov proposal #1090 - has been a significant milestone. The impact has been real: more structure, stronger messaging, and practical tools that have already proven valuable to many in the field, including myself.

For those who may not be aware, there’s a dedicated Polkadot BD Telegram group with over 125 active contributors from across the globe. The conversations leading up to this proposal have drawn participation from across the ecosystem - the Web3 Foundation, Parity, W3F-funded BD teams, and independent agents like myself. It’s been encouraging to see many of the most committed BD professionals actively shaping the direction of this work.

I’m especially excited that this proposal doesn’t aim to centralize BD, but rather to enable and empower it. By turning the Sales Hub into a more robust and permanent BD Hub, it addresses key gaps around enablement, knowledge sharing, and operational alignment. The inclusion of a Helpdesk, an enterprise GTM strategy, playbooks, and competitive intelligence - all tied together with a clear roadmap and KPI structure - will elevate our BD capabilities substantially.

I want to see more BD talent entering the Polkadot ecosystem. I want to have the infrastructure to support and train new contributors who are eager to get involved but need guidance. I want us to speak with a unified, professional voice across all verticals and markets. This proposal helps make that possible.

I believe it’s a well-constructed and pragmatic proposal - one that delivers real value without overreaching. I fully support it with an AYE, and I encourage others to continue asking questions and providing input. Natalie and Jashar have been responsive, transparent, and community-focused throughout this process, and I’m confident they will continue in that spirit as the work progresses.

Let’s build the BD Hub together - because no one team can or should do this alone.

PolkaWorld votes NAY.

First of all, we believe this initiative addresses a real need and fills an important gap in the ecosystem. For example, if a company wants to adopt blockchain technology and reach out to Polkadot, what’s the proper channel? Or if someone wants to contribute to Polkadot through business development, it can often be hard to know where to begin. A platform like this offers BD contributors a dedicated space to grow and improve over time.

That said, PolkaWorld has recently established funding standards — particularly regarding compensation.
We do not support proposals that pay more than $100/hour.

According to this principle, we must reject any proposal that exceeds this rate.

Assuming an 8-hour workday:
• Natalie: $1,250/day → ~$156.25/hour
• Jashar: $1,250/day → ~$156.25/hour
• Junior FTE: $550/day → ~$68.75/hour

Thank you for understanding. All feedbacks here.

TruthDAO voted NAY

While we appreciate the team’s initiative, most members felt that the proposed compensation was difficult to justify given the current scope of work and tangible outcomes.

The team appears to be at an early stage in their Web3 BD journey. Rather than starting with market-rate salaries, we believe a more sustainable approach would be to begin with modest funding and scale up based on demonstrated results.

An outcome-based retroactive funding model—tied to metrics such as project onboarding or TVL growth—could be more appropriate.

Dear Proposer,

Thank you for your proposal. Our first vote on this proposal is NAY.

The Medium Spender track requires 50% quorum (at least 5 aye votes) and simple majority of non-abstain votes according to our voting policy v0.2, and any referendum in which the majority of members vote abstain receives an abstain vote. This proposal has received three aye and three nay votes from ten available members, with three members abstaining. Below is a summary of our members' comments:

Feedback varied significantly. One voter initially abstained, urging that future proposals include forum discussions to refine ideas before submission. Some supported the plan for its promise to provide unified tools and improve business development in the ecosystem, citing its potential for clearer messaging and better coordination. However, several voters expressed doubts about the clarity and relevance of the deliverables, questioning the high funding request and the team’s ability to deliver tangible results. Concerns were raised over abstract metrics, phased payments without oversight, and previous performance issues, which ultimately contributed to a decision against the proposal.
