As always, Alzymologist takes community feedback (made both publicly and via private channels) really seriously — so we’ve incorporated that feedback after community rejected our referendum #736, and are now ready to resubmit.
The major points improved are:
The budgets, timeframes and team composition to fulfill these goals have been adjusted accordingly, please find the updated breakdown below.
| Milestone | Duration (weeks) | UX | Kampela firmware | Siltti | Hardware design and manufacturing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| #1 | 2 | User research | Resolve minor tech debts of Kampela with respect to ecosystem advance | iOS app MVP | New casing layout and simulations |
| #2 | 10 | Kampela UX redesign | Derivations support; Ledger-compatible seed recovery; “UX meets security” iterative work | Andriod and iOS apps functional, derivations support, iOS app in Testflight | First prototypes in the new layout; fast-iteration prototypes for UX and firmware work |
| #3 | 4 | Siltti redesign | Wrapping up the design work; hardware-assisted secret erasure | Iterative redesign implementation | Final touches on case ergonomics and possible touch/antenna interactions; optimizing device’s resistance to temperature, moisture and vibration |
| #4 | 4 | Integrations, manuals, tutorials | Full design, test system, sealed release | Design implementation, store publication | Designing manufacturing processes for the production scale |
| People involved | 1 x UX Lead; 0.5 x Technical Writer | 1 x Embedded Rust Engineer | 0.5 x Android Engineer; 0.5 x iOS Engineer | 0.5 x Electrical Engineer; 0.5 x Mechanical Engineer; 1 x Manufacturing Technician |
On top of that we would need a 1× Project Manager/Ecosystem Coordinator role, 1×Logistics and Operations manager, as well as 0.5× Head of Engineering (to make and supervise architectural decisions and cross-team integration and collaboration) throughout the duration of the project.
