Greetings Polkadot Community,

I am submitting this Big Tipper proposal for Polkadot Ecosystem AI-tools Implementation Analysis as a part of the development and enhancement of the Web3 Funding Assistant. This project focuses on collecting, processing, and presenting valuable information about current funding and grant options for the Web3 ecosystem, and providing a framework to assist developers in navigating the funding landscape and helping them get their ideas funded.

Objectives of the proposal research

  1. Find and test all AI-tools integrated into the Polkadot ecosystem related to Ecosystem Funding Options Navigation, Proposal Writing, Proposal Reviewing, etc.
  2. Understand and summarize individual experience of using the presented toolset with critical analysis on the impact to the ecosystem.
  3. Collect the Polkadot ecosystem documentations and data sources relevant to web3 grant\proposal assistance cases.
  4. Prepare Polkadot ecosystem documents, configure Custom GPT actions and test with Polkadot Ecosystem data.
  5. Understand the technical complexity of the Polkadot ecosystem data integration to the next version of the product and allocate corresponding tasks for the project sake.

Impact for Polkadot Ecosystem

We researched how the Polkadot community integrated the new tech of AI into the ecosystem and we are glad that Polkadot is one of the first web3 ecosystems starters in active integration of AI-power, however we see that this technology is used to limited extent and its potential can further leverage by the community for growth and prosperity.

Current status of AI-tools leverage in Polkadot ecosystem

We have found a successful implementation of the educational hub powered by Polkadot.AI (https://polkabot.ai/) which was also funded through the community funding mechanism. Started as a discussion (https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/treasury/761) and then supported as Treasury Proposal (https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referenda/617).

We also discovered that the OpenGov proposal profile page now has an Open AI summarization tool (see the screenshot below) helping to faster understand a proposal with summarized outlined parameters such as Problem Statement & Audience, Significance, Proposed Solution, Expected Outcomes.

And community discussion summarization tool (see the screenshot below).

We also have found that there have been a few other discussions highlighting still existing issues with the proposal creating and review process making our research even more significant and important for Polkadot ecosystem health improvement.

Enhancing User Experience with an Intelligent Ecosystem Assistant Proposal: https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referenda/1109

ChatGPT integration with Polkadot proposals to improve governance: https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/post/1760

AI powered plug-in for Polkadot developers that reduces development time: https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/post/2391

The biggest problem for reviewers is that they have to spend a lot of time reviewing and sorting proposals, so even such cool features as the Batch Voting (see the screenshot) can not solve it to the full extent.

Summary on the Polkadot ecosystem AI-tools usage

All of the above still justifies the existing problem and that the approaches and tools applied before have not, unfortunately, solved it completely. The current implementation of AI-tools helps to get educated about the whole ecosystem or get summarization on the proposals which present the very basic use case of the technology. Summarization is definitely the next step to streamline the process or proposal approval with the help of AI as it allows to sort valid / invalid proposals faster, however real evaluation of a proposal still requires an in-depth reading, domain understanding and thorough check on the proposed solutions and requested reward.

How do we solve the long existing problem?
Having experience and knowledge in developing AI-based semantic analysis tools for investment insight and in decentralized infrastructure products, having explored the problem from different angles for more than 6 years we came up with a solution we are ready to bring to the whole web3 ecosystem.

We incorporate the power of blockchain and AI\ML best practices into a single solution delivering a totally new value which is designed to increase crypto foundation communities efficiency 10 fold leading to an immense growth of innovation development.

We implement institutional investment data analysis approaches and insights helping web3 ecosystems omit ages of mistakes and risks already tested and validated by the industry experts and now automatically performed and executed by Artificial Intellegince. Reasoning, Scoring and Agentic are the words hiding the secret source behind the poduct we are developing.

We also got in touch with OpenGovAssist who initiated a research on crafting and completing successful treasury proposals back in August 2023 (https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/post/1825) and waiting for their reaction or future collaboration and experience exchange.

Boris Boarman has been supported by two foundations by the moment and we will be sharing this news on social media (https://x.com/whatdahackis) once we have MVP 1.0 live. We share this fact to add more trust to the project and the proposal as we are able to provide evidence of such agreements in private on request.

N.B.: Doing research and interviewing potential users of the product we often found that many people do not understand that the Custom GPT built on Open AI infrastructure is NOT the product we are developing, but it is just a prototype to demonstrate the basic use cases implemented by AI. However, even now with Boris Boarman Custom GPT any builder will significantly reduce efforts on making another proposal for the Polkadot Treasury.

The product (Boris Boarman Web3 Grant Assistant) will be presented as a standalone dApp. So we want to highlight one more time that the provided link to Boris Boarman Custom GPT does not represent the product we envision. We are a team of developers and researchers at the forefront of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions, leveraging cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools. With over 14 years of experience, we have developed dozens of web2, SaaS, and API-based development tools. Since 2016, we have been involved in enterprise-level blockchain projects and decentralized applications (dApps) for crypto-native users. Our current focus is on exploring how Large Language Models (LLMs) and decentralized accounting systems can enhance software development efficiency.

One of our most exciting initiatives is the creation of Boris Boarman, a conversational assistant designed to navigate the expanding universe of alternative funding sources. Boris Boarman helps users explore opportunities like crypto foundation grant programs, bounties, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). This innovative tool streamlines access to funding and resources, empowering developers and businesses to capitalize on new financial opportunities in the blockchain ecosystem.

Proposal budget break-down:

  1. Research and analysis - 8 hrs x 100 USD = 800 USD
  2. Polkadot Ecosystem document and data sources research, preparation, integration and testing in Custom GPT - 8 hrs x 100 USD = 800 USD
  3. Documenting testing results and insights for further product development - 2 hrs x 100 USD = 200 USD

    Total: 1800 USD

The break-down hourly rate is an average taken from other proposal examples. The requested Big Tipper Proposal is to support the efforts we put into the Polkadot Ecosystem AI-tools Usage for Treasury Proposal Processing analysis, relevant data integration to the current prototype and, also, to support further Boris Boarman Grant Assistant development which will be present soon as a Treasury Proposal once we collect enough feedback from the community and we release MVP 1.0.
