Context of the proposal
Telenova is a brand new self-custodial Polkadot wallet that runs directly in Telegram providing users a simple and clean user interface to manage DOT & KSM tokens.
Create a Polkadot wallet in seconds and get ready to Send tokens to anyone in Telegram, Buy/Sell DOT and KSM, get notified about balance changes, and view your total balance in multiple fiat currencies, secured by each user’s own personal Telegram cloud and manual backups.
Our goal for Telenova is to build and maintain an easy, clean, high-quality, open-source wallet for new users (nocoiners/web2) to expand the Polkadot user base and fill the gap in the ecosystem.
This proposal covers the retroactive funding for the research and development of Telenova as a cross-platform application for the Polkadot ecosystem.
The project contained a Research phase of 2 months to dive into the details of how to develop and publish a self-custodial wallet like Telenova as a TApp, as well as testing capabilities and limitations of Telegram as an application platform.
The next 4 months — Development phase — this time has been dedicated to developing, verifying, setting up CI/CD, and the release of Telenova as a product that anyone from the 800M+ monthly active Telegram users can access today.

Within the first days of using the Telenova wallet, I had onboarded dozens of my friends and family members who would be resistant to download a custom wallet to receive and hold DOT / KSM. I think it is the easiest onboarding experience into Polkadot today.
Integration of the Gift feature was a super great way to make the app sticky and immediately usable. I learned about the app myself through a gift, and allowing new users to create an address AFTER they receive a transfer is the best experience possible.
The onboarding experience for non-crypto people has been seamless, and a great balance between a true web3 wallet, and web2 integration with Telegram. I can't wait for Telenova to support USDC and Tether, where I can use it as my primary payment system among friends and family, while onboarding them into the Polkadot ecosystem.
I think this retroactive funding is exactly how projects should be using the treasury. Making large direct impact to our ecosystem, and getting rewarded for doing a great job, and us signaling to them to continue to build more. I am looking forward for the Nova team to continue to polish and make this app even better.
Big AYE!
