Currently, the plug-in can be used for code generation and autocompletion for substrate and ink! The plug-in does a good job of providing insights into the code generated, which helps developers increase their understanding of substrate/ink. With every fine-tuned version, developers should be able to build/code better and faster. This will lead to more applications being built on Polkadot.

We have now completed 2 of the 4 milestones to build dAppForge V 1.0. To recap, these are the 4 milestones:

-   **Milestone 1 (completed):** the first iteration of LLM ( substrate only) and the VS code plugin alpha version. This was completed, but the product is at a level where developers won’t see a lot of value. This is because the model needs to be further fine-tuned.
-   **Milestone 2 (completed: ref 985):** The product's beta version. It includes a fine-tuned LLM model for substrate, integrated ink!, and a chat feature.
-   **Milestone 3 ( current treasury proposal):** These are the main points ( more details in section 1.6):
    -   Fine-tune llm for substrate and ink! further. This will help developers increase their understanding of both substrate/ink!, which will lead them to code faster and reduce development time.
    -   Integrate Solidity. This will set the foundation for helping developers deploy EVM smart contracts on Asset Hub when Plazza is finished in Q2 2025. Polkadot needs more dApps, and one strategy is to make it easier for solidity developers to deploy on Asset Hub.
    -   Develop and integrate a monetization strategy to support the product's growth, focusing on a two-tier pricing structure, initial freemium experience, and scalable subscription option ($30/month). The paid tier will give developers access to enhanced AI, providing more accurate and contextually relevant code suggestions. We will also build a specialized educational subscription track focused on onboarding users to learn using Substrate and Ink!
        -   dAppForge is [open-sourced](https://github.com/dappforge/dAppForge-copilot). Anyone can clone the AI model and run it on their machines. However, you will need to set up your cloud infrastructure to run the model. If you don’t want to manage your own infrastructure, there will be a free tier for you to use.
            
    -   Develop a knowledge graph focused on the Rust programming language, capturing comprehensive insights on Rust syntax, libraries, frameworks, best practices, and common patterns. This will be crucial to expanding our reach to the wider Rust developer community. It will also create an opportunity to onboard them into the Polkadot ecosystem by demonstrating how their existing skills can be used to build blockchain applications using substrate/ink! Here are some examples:
        -   Upon starting a new project, the plug-in offers a dropdown option: "Would you like to try building a decentralized application using Ink!?" or “Would you like to explore how to build your blockchain using substrate?”
            -   Once JAM is live, we expect Rust developers to write contracts in Rust that would be compiled with PVM.  We also expect rust to be used to write different JAM services in the future. 
-   **Milestone 4 ( future treasury proposal):** These are the main points:
    -   Fine-tune current knowledge graphs.
    -   Enable Ink! and Solidity developers to deploy their smart contracts to Asset Hub. This involves making sure the contracts correctly compile to PVM.

dAppForge Milestone 3 

A problem occurred with a proposal called Ref. 1303, where a Relay Chain Proxy was set to receive AssetHub assets, making them inaccessible. To fix this, a new proposal is needed. The original proposal can be found [here](1303). The preimage was pulled before the confirmation period ended, and you can verify it [here](https://polkadot.subscan.io/extrinsic/0xec8ca6dbcfee1b25201b9e95b61e6eb890f7eee9d4f21aee060da7005d79c42c). Waiting for Pure Proxy Replication to solve this issue is not ideal, as it will take many months. Submitting a Root Ref to replicate the proxy was also considered, but it would take too long and tie up resources. Voting on this new proposal will help fix the payout issue approved in Ref. 1303.

This proposal aims to create a collaborative strategy for Africa to increase awareness, adoption, and growth of Polkadot, a blockchain platform. The plan involves building a supportive community of agents representing Polkadot in Africa, with a focus on developers and content creators. The strategy includes educational sessions, community engagement, ecosystem representation, developer outreach, and encouraging the building of Polkadot native apps and integrations. The plan is divided into four phases: icebreaker events, Rust community activations, developer workshops, and community meetups. The team behind the proposal includes Bekka, Kratista0s, Sanchez, and Victor, who are also responsible for the Polkadot Africa X account. The requested amount for the project is $92,880, with the duration set from January to June 2025. The initiative will primarily focus on Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda, with a goal to eventually reach out to North and South African regions as well.

Polkadot has limited engagement and few project developments in Africa compared to newer platforms like Ethereum L2s, Solana, Avax, ICP Network etc

**Mission**

This proposal aims to build a supportive community of agents representing Polkadot in Africa. There are so many pieces to the puzzle when growing a diverse community. For instance, we would want developers and content creators. How do we achieve this?

Treasury Proposal: Polkadot Africa Community Growth (West and East Africa regions)

Maintenance for the substrate-api-client Jan-25 to Jun-25

Asset Decentralized Identifier Communication (AssetDIDcomm) is a project that aims to create a secure, encrypted, and decentralized data storage and messaging system for digital assets. It uses DID verifiable credentials to allow digital asset owners to store and retrieve encrypted data and messages throughout the asset's lifetime. The system will use the Kilt Protocol and Crust for digital identity and decentralized storage, respectively.

Xcavate, a foundational protocol built on Polkadot, focuses on tokenizing real estate assets for community investment and decentralized governance. They plan to launch their blockchain through Agile Core Time on Polkadot and have been accepted into the UK's FCA sandbox for regulatory compliance.

Traditionally, tokenizing real-world assets like real estate involves many third parties and can lead to issues such as data breaches, data manipulation, and lack of accountability. AssetDIDcomm aims to solve these problems by providing a decentralized and secure method for data storage and communication related to digital assets.

The project has gathered support and use cases from various members of the Polkadot ecosystem, including Archisinal, Aventus, and Mandala Chain. They believe that AssetDIDcomm can improve data security, transparency, and efficiency in various industries, including planning, construction, and government projects.

The main problems AssetDIDcomm aims to address are centralized storage, security and access, and data manipulation. By providing a decentralized solution, the project hopes to increase investor confidence, improve accountability, and reduce costs associated with data breaches and forensic investigations.

Create a secure encrypted decentralized data storage and messaging system relating to any digital asset by leveraging DID verifiable credentials. Any digital asset owner on any chain could store and retrieve encrypted data and messages throughout the assets lifetime, through a shared verifiable credential.

1.  Context

This project aims to design and implement an Asset Decentralized Identifier Communication (AssetDIDcomm) system that allows individuals and groups with a shared verifiable credential relating to a specific digital assetDID (any asset created on any chain has an AssetDID) to securely and privately communicate with anyone with the same credential. The system will leverage the Kilt Protocol (or any other digital identity provider using the W3C standard) and Crust (or any other IPFS decentralized storage provider), ensuring privacy, security, and user control over personal data as well as provide gated and verifiable communication to and from users based on specific protocol or dApp rules.

Xcavate is a foundational protocol, built using the Polkadot SDK, designed to focus on the trustless tokenization of real estate assets facilitating inclusive community investment and decentralized governance. Xcavate is a well established project with imminent plans to launch their own blockchain through Agile Core Time on Polkadot. This builds on having launched several Appchain testnets on Tanssi as well as an instance on the Paseo testnet to verify DIDs created on the Kilt Protocol using the Kilt DIP pallet.

Xcavate have also been accepted on to the FCA sandbox (the UK digital assets regulatory body), which means they can operate in a live environment in a regulatory compliant manner while refining their real estate tokenized asset marketplace relating to UK investors. This will mean approximately £30 million in TVL, within the Polkadot Ecosystem, over the next 9 to 12 months. They were also asked to present at the recent FCA Autumn Innovation Expo at which the FCA Director of Innovation commented Xcavate as a stand out project in the Wealth Tech category.

Traditionally when a real world asset, like real estate, is tokenized there are many third parties involved throughout the life cycle of the asset. Data storage (of documents and communication associated with the asset) and data integrity is either fractured or centrally stored or both. This can lead to many issues like; Deleted or manipulated data, gaps in accountability, decisions and authorisations, regulatory oversight and market manipulation.

We have reached out to various members of the Polkadot ecosystem to gather other use cases that would benefit from a more decentralized and robust data storage & secure communication method relating to particular digital assets.

Centralised storage Trust in centralized communication methods relating to real world assets like real estate is constantly being eroded through data breaches and data manipulation, resulting in the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars as well as extremely low investor confidence and diminished accountability in areas of health and safety.

Security and access Private communication and documentation is often stored through a centralized source, which does not easily get transferred with ownership / involvement of an asset. Publicly available documents and communication can be an issue, especially for time sensitive data.

Data manipulation A timeline of events and culpability is often difficult to determine without trusted third parties or forensic investigation, which is costly and extremely time consuming.

**Context**

The JAM (Join-Accumulate Machine) prize is a Polkadot initiative that encourages teams to develop diverse implementations of the new iteration of Polkadot network proposed by Gavin Wood. As part of the implementation of the JAM protocol, teams need to implement the Polkadot Virtual Machine (PVM) which is responsible for execution of the state transition of underlying services. This implementation diversity is essential for ensuring the Polkadot network remains flexible, secure, and resilient. However, building these various PVM implementations introduces significant technical challenges, particularly around debugging and analyzing the behavior of PVM programs across different client implementations.

Our team is one of the participants in the JAM prize, focusing on creating a robust PVM interpreter. During our work, we realized the need for a specialized tool to streamline debugging and validation processes. Standard debugging tools did not provide the level of insight required to efficiently inspect program execution, memory usage, and register interactions within the PVM.

To address this, we developed the PVM Disassembler & Debugger ([https://pvm.fluffylabs.dev)](https://pvm.fluffylabs.dev\)) specifically tailored for the JAM ecosystem. The tool includes a machine code and assembly view, allowing developers to inspect the PVM programs at a low level. After plugging in one of many possible PVM interpreter implementations, it also offers key debugging features such as step-over functionality, breakpoints, and memory inspection, giving developers a detailed view of program behavior during execution.A significant potential benefit of the debugger is its ability to validate programs simultaneously across multiple PVM implementations, helping teams participating in the JAM prize identify discrepancies and improve client interoperability.

While the tool was initially created for our own development purposes, we recognized its value for the broader Polkadot community and have decided to open-source it. This will allow other teams to use the debugger for cross-client validation and debugging, accelerating their development process and ensuring the robustness of their PVM implementations.

**Problem**

The development of diverse Polkadot Virtual Machine (PVM) implementations, as encouraged by the JAM prize, introduces significant technical challenges. Developers might struggle with debugging and validating PVM programs across different implementations, lacking tools to gain deep insights into program execution, memory states, and discrepancies between clients. This slows down development and increases the risk of bugs going undetected.

Additionally, we believe the PVM Disassembler & Debugger will serve a greater educational purpose of introducing a new wave of developers that are going to build Services on top of JAM. With references to Gray Paper definitions of instructions we strive to make it easier to understand in depth the complexity of PVM’s formal specification.

**Proposal**

We propose retroactive funding of the PVM Disassembler & Debugger aimed at supporting the implementers of Polkadot Virtual Machine (PVM) interpreters as part of the JAM prize. The tool addresses the complexities and technical challenges developers face when debugging and validating PVM programs. Our goal is to provide a robust solution that helps developers better understand program execution, identify discrepancies between multiple PVM implementations, and align with the formal specifications in the Gray Paper.

By creating this open-source debugger, we aimed to not only solve immediate development issues but also contribute to the long-term robustness of the Polkadot/JAM ecosystem by promoting client diversity, enhancing the overall quality of PVM implementations and helping the builders of programs running on top of the PVM.

Please note that the JAM prize or other funding mechanisms do not cover tooling for JAM. The JAM prize focuses on client implementations but does not cover the development of ecosystem tools such as debuggers, which benefit all participants. This is why we are submitting this proposal directly to the treasury and the Polkadot ecosystem.

**Available solutions**

While RISC-V debuggers exist, there is no dedicated debugger for PVM currently available. Even if one existed, it would probably not support running a program in parallel across multiple PVM implementations, which is crucial for identifying discrepancies in client behavior—something that traditional debugging tools cannot achieve in a standard debugging setup. This project aims to fill that gap with a PVM-specific debugger tailored to the unique requirements of the JAM ecosystem.

**Scope of work**

The PVM Debugger ([https://pvm.fluffylabs.dev)](https://pvm.fluffylabs.dev\)) initial version 1.0 has been completed, providing a basic range of functionalities to support PVM client implementations in the Polkadot ecosystem. Below is an outline of the key deliverables and functionalities. The deliverable is under Mozilla Public License (MPL-2.0) license.

-   Success Criteria: Positive feedback from at least two JAM prize teams, with discussions in Polkadot forums or developer channels highlighting the debugger's value.

These success criteria will confirm that the PVM Debugger is an effective tool that serves its intended purpose of improving PVM implementation and debugging within the Polkadot ecosystem.

**Known constraints**

As we continue to expand the PVM Debugger by integrating additional PVM implementations, there are some known constraints that may affect future efforts:

1.  Integration Complexity: Further integration of PVMs, may require additional development time and resources. Managing the technical complexity of supporting new implementations could influence the timeline for integrating new PVMs.
2.  Coordination with Other JAM Teams: Future integrations may depend on testing and feedback from other JAM prize teams. Delays in receiving feedback or coordinating external testing could affect the speed of further integrations.
3.  No Prior Funding: The project has not been previously funded, ensuring no conflict of interest with other proposals or ongoing projects.

These constraints will be considered when expanding the debugger to support additional PVM implementations.

**Reporting**

Since the PVM Debugger project is already completed and this proposal seeks retroactive funding, there is no need for ongoing reporting related to the development process. However, the history of commits and progress can be fully tracked and reviewed on GitHub, providing full transparency on the project's timeline and milestones.

Should any future updates or enhancements be made, relevant information will be shared through appropriate channels, such as GitHub or Polkadot community forums.

**How does the PVM Debugger benefit teams beyond the JAM prize?** Since the PVM is going to be an execution bedrock of future JAM services, we hope that the PVM Debugger (and its future iterations) will help not only the JAM implementers, but also the developers building services on top of JAM. Moreover, given the proposal to have Solidity Smart Contracts on PVM running on Asset Hub ([https://forum.polkadot.network/t/contracts-update-solidity-on-polkavm/6949)](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/contracts-update-solidity-on-polkavm/6949\)) we are considering to support more specialized debugging primitives for such contracts (like supporting debug symbols or the required host calls - cross contract calls, storage, etc).

**Why are you requesting retroactive funding instead of building this under the JAM prize?** The JAM prize focuses on client implementations but does not cover the development of ecosystem tools like e.g. debuggers, which benefit all participants. We developed the PVM Debugger to solve problems that arose during our own implementation and are now making it available to the entire community. Retroactive funding allows us to recover the costs of building this tool and ensures that it remains freely available and open-source.

**Will there be further development of the PVM Debugger?** While this proposal is specifically for retroactive funding, we are going to continue developing the PVM Debugger to add more features and integrations in the future. However, these future developments are independent from the current funding request.

Treasury Proposal: Retroactive Funding for PVM Debugger

EasyA is excited to announce the next phase of their collaboration with Polkadot, called #360DaysOfPolkadot. After a successful 2024, they plan to upgrade the in-app EasyA Polkadot course to Polkadot 2.0 and host two hackathons at Harvard University and in London. The timeline for this project is from November 2024 to April 2025, with a requested allocation of USD $392,500. The target metrics include 120,000 developers starting the crash course, 100,000 completing it, 600 in-person hackathon attendees, 100 hackathon projects, and over 10 million social media impressions. Milestone 1: EasyA x Polkadot: In-person hackathons and in-app Polkadot 2.0 crash course (#360DaysOfPolkadot)

We had a successful 2024 program and now we are moving to the next step, called Tranche 2. This will help people who learned in our classes and bootcamp to join a big event called the Polkadot Hackathon. There, they can use their new skills to work on cool projects and help make the Polkadot system better.

So far, we had over 350 people join our classes and bootcamp, and they learned a lot. We want to keep this going by having them join the Hackathon.

For Tranche 2, we need some money to help make the Hackathon happen. We are asking for $385,000, which will be given to us in three parts. We already got the first part in July, and we are waiting for the second part in November, and the last part in early 2025.

2. Stake, unstake, and manage stakes on the Polkadot Staking Dashboard
3. 1/N multisig – multisig with a threshold of 1
4. Store transactions in cache for future batch processing with support for nested batch operations
5. Add any accounts to watchlist

Polkadot Ambassador Fellowship: Initial Funding Request and Validation of the Advisory Board

OpenZeppelin has submitted a proposal to help develop secure parachains in the Polkadot ecosystem. They have made progress since their last approval, including launching an EVM Runtime Template for Solidity smart contracts, creating a developer guide for migrating contracts, and collaborating with R0gue to integrate Pop CLI. In this fourth phase, they are requesting funding for:

1. Creating "meta pallets" to simplify development and speed up time-to-market.
2. Making their templates compatible with Tanssi to improve the developer experience and launch time.
3. Improving zombienet-sdk for easier local chain testing.
4. Including support for Snowbridge, a bridge between Polkadot and Ethereum.
5. Developing guides for using meta pallets and new features.

OpenZeppelin aims to maintain transparency and welcome community feedback to strengthen the Polkadot network.

This proposal is the fourth of our quarterly submissions by OpenZeppelin to accelerate the development and deployment of secure parachains in the Polkadot ecosystem. Since our last approval in July 2024, we have achieved:

-   The launch of an [EVM Runtime Template](https://github.com/orgs/OpenZeppelin/projects/32/views/3) configured with Frontier pallets to support Solidity smart contracts seamlessly on Substrate chains.
-   A detailed [developer guide](https://docs.openzeppelin.com/substrate-runtimes/guides/contract_migration) to assist in migrating Solidity contracts from Ethereum to our EVM runtime template.
-   Collaboration with R0gue to [integrate Pop CLI](https://github.com/r0gue-io/pop-cli/releases/tag/v0.2.0) with our templates to give developers an even easier experience.
-   Account abstraction support and pre-deployed contracts.

In this fourth phase (M4) we request the funding to:

-   **Meta Pallets**: Streamline developer experience by creating higher-level, opinionated "meta pallets" that encapsulate common pallet functionalities. This reduces the number of pallets required for a project, simplifying development and accelerating time-to-market.
-   **Tanssi Integration**: Enhance developer experience and increase parachain launch time by making our templates compatible with Tanssi.
-   **Zombienet-sdk improvements**: One issue we’ve faced when writing integration tests is being able to easily spin up a local chain and tear it up. After speaking with some teams we realized this is a common problem across the ecosystem, that’s why we are collaborating with Parity to improve DX for zombienet by contributing upstream. -   **Snowbridge Integration**: Snowbridge is a general purpose, trustless and decentralized bridge between Polkadot and Ethereum. Our goal is to include out of the box support for parachains that use our templates.

OpenZeppelin x Polkadot Ecosystem Growth Phase M4

Subcoin, a Bitcoin full node project, received a grant from Web3 Foundation to create a decentralized Bitcoin fast sync mechanism using the Polkadot SDK framework. However, they faced issues with Substrate's inability to import large states during state sync, leading to Out-of-Memory errors. This problem affects other Substrate-based projects as well. The main issues are:

1. Out-of-Memory issue when importing large states.
2. Lack of persistent state sync support.

To address these problems, a follow-up grant proposal was submitted to Web3 Foundation, but they recommended treasury funding instead. The goal is to improve Substrate's state sync capabilities by resolving the OOM issue and implementing persistent state sync, allowing Substrate-based projects to use advanced sync strategies regardless of chain state size. Some fast sync-related bugs have also been identified and fixed to improve Substrate's sync mechanisms.

## Context

### Motivation

Several months ago, [Subcoin](https://github.com/subcoin-project/subcoin), a Rust Bitcoin Full Node implementation, received a grant from the Web3 Foundation as a showcase of the `polkadot-sdk` framework. The project aimed to implement a decentralized Bitcoin fast sync mechanism, enabling Bitcoin users to quickly sync with the network tip by directly downloading the Bitcoin state (UTXO set) from the Subcoin P2P network in a decentralized manner.

However, limitations in the Substrate framework prevented the realization of this vision. The primary issue was Substrate's inability to import large states (several gigabytes or more) downloaded during state sync without encountering Out-of-Memory (OOM) errors. As a result, we could only demonstrate the Bitcoin fast sync functionality by syncing to an intermediate block height, falling short of the original objective.

### Background

Since completing the Subcoin w3f grant, I have been actively working to address the challenges related to state sync. Through extensive investigation, we identified the root cause of the OOM issue: Substrate attempts to construct the entire trie in memory during the state import process ([Issue #5053](https://github.com/paritytech/polkadot-sdk/issues/5053#issuecomment-2325449167)).

With guidance from the `polkadot-sdk` maintainers, a rough plan to resolve the OOM issue and introduce persistent state sync support has been formulated. Preliminary efforts have already yielded encouraging results, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive solution.

Based on the progress made so far, I submitted a follow-up grant proposal to the w3f grants program. ## Problem

The current fast sync feature in Substrate suffers from significant limitations, making it unusable or impractical in certain scenarios:

1.  **OOM issue on importing the large state:**
    
    Substrate fails to import states downloaded via state sync due to the OOM issue when the chain state is large. This limitation affects not only Subcoin but any project using Substrate, including Polkadot itself. For example, the Astar network has already encountered this issue ([Issue #5053](https://github.com/paritytech/polkadot-sdk/issues/5053)).
    
2.  **Lack of persistent state sync support:**
    
    State sync in Substrate currently lacks the ability to persist partial progress, requiring the entire process to restart in case of interruptions.
    

These challenges must be addressed to unlock the full potential of Substrate's advanced sync strategies, including warp sync and fast sync, particularly for projects with large chain states.

In addition to the above issues, I have identified and addressed several other fast sync-related bugs during my work, with some fixes already implemented and others still in progress. These improvements aim to enhance the overall reliability and functionality of Substrate's sync mechanisms.

KodaDot has established itself as the leading NFT marketplace on Polkadot Asset Hub, successfully delivering over 40 generative art drops and processing nearly 9,000 NFT mints with a 95%+ success rate. Our infrastructure currently handles 40,000 daily unique requests and maintains over 75,000 NFT metadata entries. As an open-source public good, we've distributed over $400k in bounties to more than 130 contributors, building essential NFT infrastructure for the entire ecosystem.

## The Problem

KodaDot's rapid growth has brought us to a critical juncture. While we're successfully delivering regular generative art drops and serving a growing user base, we urgently need to secure long-term maintenance funding to sustain this public infrastructure. Without dedicated maintenance resources, we can't reliably expand to meet user demands for crucial features like trustless NFT trading and a comprehensive offers system. As the leading NFT platform on Polkadot Asset Hub, consistent maintenance, monitoring, and optimization are essential to ensure the platform remains reliable for the entire ecosystem.

## Our Objectives

We aim to solve these issues by implementing secure peer-to-peer NFT trading through atomic swaps, enabling a flexible offer system for any NFT, and maintaining robust infrastructure. These improvements will significantly enhance the NFT trading experience on Polkadot, making it more competitive with other blockchain ecosystems.

## The Solution

We're proposing three major developments:

1. **Atomic Swaps**: A secure, trustless trading system allowing users to exchange NFTs directly without intermediaries. This includes multi-asset support and optimized pricing, ensuring safe and efficient trades.
 
2. **Offers System**: A comprehensive bidding system enabling users to make offers on any NFT, whether listed or not. This includes time-limited offers, counter-offers, and a notification system to keep users engaged.
 
3. **Infrastructure Enhancement**: Significant improvements to our backend systems, including optimized gateways processing, advanced caching, and enhanced IPFS pinning for reliable NFT metadata storage.
 

## Technical Implementation

Our experienced team of five developers will build these features using our proven technical stack. We're extending our SubSquid indexing nodes, implementing new NFT pallet integrations, and enhancing our caching layer with Stellate. Performance targets include sub-3-second response times for offers, sub-5-second execution for swaps, and 99.9% system uptime.

Polkadot’s multi-chain implementation, though powerful, can lead to a confusing user experience for end-users. It’s our goal to solve these challenges with design, storytelling, and engineering. We abstract away the complexity of the underlying implementation and provide a friendly user experience when using Polkadot and a way to discover new applications and services available to end users, while keeping them safe and educated about the actions they are taking. Talisman has two products: a [browser extension wallet](https://docs.talisman.xyz/talisman/talisman-products/talisman-wallet) and a [user-friendly web application](https://app.talisman.xyz). Since launching in early 2022, Talisman has been able to achieve the following:

- Talisman’s DOT Nomination pools driven by one click staking in the Portal web application, and more recently inline staking in the Talisman Wallet, have garnered over 8 million DOT since launch, and are among the largest and most trusted pools in the ecosystem.

Talisman was founded in 2021 and now consists of a team of 12 people with deep experience in crypto, finance, development, UI design, and product management. The team was previously founded by Agyle, Nipsey, Swami, and Hood, and is now led by Nobyte and Warp Lizard, who have been with Talisman since near Talisman’s founding. There are no conflicts of interest between the team and governing bodies for Polkadot or Kusama.

**Day 1 support for Polkadot Generic Ledger app**

Besides having played a pivotal role in the wallet-side implementation of the Zondax generic Ledger app, Talisman committed significant development resources to delivering Generic Ledger support from day 1, enabling our users to migrate with ease. During the planning and development phase of the Generic Ledger application, Talisman engineers gave up their Friday evenings every week for several months in order to be present at planning meetings regarding the API design. During this time, our engineering team found several critical issues with proposed designs and provided crucial feedback to ensure a better outcome for the ecosystem.

**Native cross-chain swaps**

One of the key pain points of the Polkadot ecosystem has always been moving assets to/from Polkadot and other ecosystems, particularly between Ethereum and Polkadot, which has limited liquidity in the ecosystem. We have built a super convenient way for users to swap natively across chains, by integrating two swaps providers into our aggregator, and will continue to support additional paths.

**Easy Polkadot staking**

We support and continue to support easy staking of assets across the entire Polkadot ecosystem, enabling our users to generate yield with just a few clicks of a button, both in the Portal and in the Wallet. We’ve recently integrated nomination pool staking functionality focusing on convenience in the wallet, and will continue to expand those features. Talisman users don’t just use the wallet, they need to interact with dapps throughout the Polkadot ecosystem. Manned by both Sentinels and our core devs, our Discord help desk has always been there to guide them with the intricacies of the Polkadot ecosystem. Many of the common support issues raised in our Discord don’t relate directly to Talisman, but to Polkadot in general - for example, issues with the existential deposit, address formats, and (until recently) Ledger application incompatibility. **Problem statement:** 

Game developers hate crypto and are are filled with negative sentiments around the industry, and yet gaming has frequently led the adoption of new technologies. Polkadot needs game developers.

**Goal:** Educate non-crypto-native game developers on the benefits and challenges of blockchain gaming through an honest and accessible documentary featuring Polkadot ecosystem tech and teams and organically onboarding curious developers into our ecosystem.

The Web3 Foundation legally owns Polkadot's social media accounts and has entrusted ET90266 to manage them. The EB works with ET90266 and Distractive for content creation and brand alignment. The first EB had impressive growth in reach and engagement. **Should this be funded by the Marketing Bounty?**

-   A proposal to refund the Marketing Bounty recently passed. However the Marketing Bounty is not yet accepting proposals, and will not begin making payouts until December at the earliest.
-   In the future, the community may enact a Wish-for-Change stating that _all_ marketing-related proposals go through the Marketing Bounty. In that case, a proposal like this may go through the Marketing Bounty if the community feels that is the appropriate channel.
-   By going directly through OpenGov, the Editorial Board answers to the community and not the curators of a bounty.

-   The application period for the second EB was announced at the end of August (near the end of the 6-month term for the first EB.)

-   ET90266 then interviewed the majority of applicants, and had follow up interviews with the finalists, before selecting the final five members.

[Dotmemo](https://dotmemo.xyz) is a decentralized, permissionless, and free-to-use platform built natively on Polkadot Asset Hub that allows anyone to create and mint verifiable digital memories of events. These blockchain-based memos serve as permanent records of participation in both online and offline events, enhancing community engagement across the Polkadot ecosystem.

## Problem Statement

Before dotmemo, the Polkadot ecosystem lacked a native, decentralized solution for creating and managing digital event memories. This absence made it challenging for event organizers, communities, and projects within the Polkadot ecosystem to easily mint, distribute, and verify attendance NFTs without relying on centralized services.
