Overview 📖

In this proposal we outline our plan to integrate the foundation of our platform, BlockID, into the Polkadot Blockchain ecosystem. This is the first (1st) of three (3) proposals we intend to submit. Each ecosystem proposal builds on the prior one, unlocking the full potential of the FreshCredit® platform (BlockID, BlockScore, and BlockIQ) and providing substantial value at each level of deployment.

Ultimately we believe that the Fresh Protocol is a crucial addition to the Polkadot ecosystem; it will provide a fundamental service to the Polkadot userbase and stands to increase said userbase substantially.

With community support, we can transition our MVP platform to V1.0 and bridge the gap between legacy credit systems and decentralized applications.

Project Details ℹ️

  • Mockups/designs of any UI components: Not applicable

  • Data models / API specifications of the core functionality: https://github.com/freshcredit/blockid

  • Overview of the technology stack to be used: Rust, WebAssembly, and Substrate

  • Documentation of core components, protocols, architecture, etc. to be deployed: https://github.com/freshcredit/blockid

  • PoC/MVP or other relevant prior work or research on the topic: https://github.com/freshcredit/blockid

  • What your project is not or will not provide or implement: The Fresh Protocol is not a lending platform, it is a credit system that enables trustless and efficient lending on the blockchain.

Ecosystem Fit 🌐

Q: Where and how does your project fit into the ecosystem?

A: The Fresh Protocol fits into the blockchain ecosystem as a decentralized credit system that connects legacy credit systems and decentralized applications.

Q: Who is your target audience (parachain/dapp/wallet/UI developers, designers, your own user base, some dapp's userbase, yourself)?

A: Our target audience is individuals and organizations seeking to access fair and transparent credit on the blockchain, including those that want to connect to legacy credit systems and decentralized applications.

Q: What need(s) does your project meet?

A: The Fresh Protocol meets the need for a decentralized, fair and transparent credit system that can connect to legacy credit systems and decentralized applications.

Q: Are there any other projects similar to yours in the blockchain ecosystem? If so, how is your project different? If not, are there similar projects in related ecosystems?

A: To our knowledge, there are no other projects that provide a similar solution for credit system that connects legacy credit systems and decentralized applications in the blockchain ecosystem.

Development 💻

The team has conducted extensive research on the current credit system and blockchain technology. We have also developed a proof of concept for the Fresh Protocol which can be found at https://github.com/freshcredit

Roadmap

We have also provided examples of the code for each milestone, including the deployment of a substrate-based blockchain for the BlockID credit reporting platform, the deployment of a Substrate-based blockchain for the BlockScore credit scoring system, and the deployment of a substrate-based DAO for the BlockIQ credit lending platform.

Cost Estimate: $171,120.00

We believe that the Fresh Protocol is a crucial addition to the blockchain ecosystem and with your support, we can make it a reality and bridge the gap between legacy credit systems and decentralized applications. We are excited to take this step towards building a decentralized, fair and transparent credit system that will greatly benefit individuals and organizations.

Deliverable

A decentralized platform for credit reporting that allows individuals and organizations to securely share and verify credit information.

We will build a node that is technically the Cumulus based parachain with XCM module to make it interoperable with the other parachains such as BlockScore and BlockIQ, meanwhile customizing our own pallet, which allows us to mint/update/transfer the dNFTs which can store the dynamic information of users gathered by calling the Plaid API for open banking access, CRS Credit API for credit data and services, OneRep API for the other personal information, and Facebook API for social graph.

Deployment

  • We will use the Substrate/Cumulus framework to build a node and to deploy a dynamic NFT (non-fungible token) that serves as an infra and a unique identification for each user on the platform. The infrastructure will be hosted on AWS as IaaS as well as this NFT will contain the user's credit information and will be connected to the Plaid and Experian APIs to gather credit data from these legacy systems.

  • The code for this milestone would include the implementation of a pallet on the Substrate-based blockchain to create and manage the dynamic NFTs that serve as unique identification for each user on the platform. The contract would also include the integration of the Plaid and Experian APIs to gather credit data from these legacy systems.

  • The pallet would be written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly for execution on the Substrate-based blockchain.
