Hey Polkadot ecosystem community!
We are happy to deliver our work on the proposal approved on the 23rd of March 2023 and are requesting a second allocation of funds for the development of 8-9, 11 milestones of OpenBrush.
Context
Proposal was initially approved on Kusama OpenGov by a majority of 79.4%. https://kusama.polkassembly.io/referenda/138
However the delivery proposal failed by a small majority (second installment) — https://kusama.polkassembly.io/referenda/262
There was no indication of any delivery problems, so we assume the prorblem wasn't about delivery itself. Also, we assume the problem isn't about the importance or the quality of OpenBrush. OpenBrush is a widely used tool being leveraged my numerous projects (AlephZero, Astar Network, Phala Network, SubWallet, Artzero, Abax Finance).
Consequently we were suggested by some of the tokenholders to request retroactive funding on Polkadot.
TL;DR
The purpose of OpenBrush is to grow the emerging WASM smart contracts field. As Gavin mentioned in this CoinDesk article, WebAssembly is the future of smart contracts. Also, as was mentioned in the approved WASM smart contracts bounty currently smart contracts parachains lead the ecosystem in terms of market adoption. However, despite WASM tech having a lot to offer, it's not being widely used at the moment simply because of lack of proper tooling and ecosystem infrastructure products
OpenBrush is a core infrastructure product, a starting point, and a base for every ink! dApp. 15+ production-grade teams and 3 parachains currently use OpenBrush. This proposal is a continuation of the development of the successful product, proposing the most developer-needed features, validated by market feedback.
List of OpenBrush stakeholders & users:
AlephZero, Astar Network, Phala Network, SubWallet, Artzero, Abax Finance, AZERO.ID, Panorama Swap, Andromeda Swap, ink!Whale, Interlock, ArthSwap, ZapFi, Liberum DAO, Kagla Finance, Starlay, Paras, Koda Dot, Pink Robot, Zstake and 100 + unnamed devs and teams in our Discord.

Hello Polkadot ecosystem community! We are excited to share our work on the proposal approved on March 23, 2023, and we are asking for more funds to develop OpenBrush's milestones 8-9 and 11.
Context: Our proposal was approved by 79.4% of Kusama OpenGov, but the second funding installment did not pass. We don't think there are any problems with our work or OpenBrush, which is used by many projects like AlephZero, Astar Network, and Phala Network. Some tokenholders suggested we ask for funding on Polkadot.
Summary: OpenBrush helps grow the WASM smart contracts field. WebAssembly is the future of smart contracts, and OpenBrush is a key tool for ink! dApps. Over 15 teams and 3 parachains use OpenBrush, and this proposal will help us add more features that developers need.
Stakeholders and Users: AlephZero, Astar Network, Phala Network, SubWallet, Artzero, Abax Finance, and many others.
