Hello @1TRIBE,

First of all, you need to place the decision deposit otherwise your proposal is going to time out in 9 days 7 hours as of me writing this comment.

It appears that for your first proposal you have received 47,281 DOT, roughly 288,000 USD on the 29th of March, 2023. Some findings of mine from your report Phase I report:

  • You claim that you have produced 72 videos, and 45 additional videos (117 videos in total) but your YouTube channel has only 5 videos, and they have 170 views in total. Can you share links to the rest of the videos?
  • Can you share the recordings to the 25 video ads that you place in your shows?
  • I did check your website, and it's impossible to say that it's rich in content. News section has 22 pieces, it's hard to say that the content is impressive. TV section has only 3 videos, all posted on the 17th of August, 2023.

Overall, I find the idea of merging entertainment, commerce and education good, and Africa could really be a fertile ground for such development, but the work so far doesn't at all justify the $288K USD of funds received. Nay from me. In my opinion you have clearly failed to deliver. Please feel free to respond to this comment with the justification of the budget spent and the missing material I pointed at above.

Best regards,

Regarding our current platform, Here's the deal: Despite the lean appearance of our site right now, there's real, tangible value in what we've set up so far. Yes, we've got 22 news articles and 3 videos up — all self-funded and crafted amid some serious financial squeeze. But behind those numbers is a platform that's primed to serving our community right now.
Here's what 1TRIBE is doing today:
Community Engagement: Our news and TV sections, though modest, are starting points for deeper engagement. They're where we begin conversations about the future of Africa in web3, sharing insights, stories, and developments that matter.
WURA Marketplace: Even in its beginning stages, WURA is already up and running, far beyond just a concept. It's a vibrant, active space where African creators can get their digital and physical creations out there. Picture a place where commerce doesn't just happen, but culture thrives, all facilitated by DOT. But it's not only about the buying and selling; it's about knitting together a community that celebrates African creativity and innovation. My aim with WURA was to curate African designers and artists, giving them a platform to sell their masterpieces.
Is there room for improvement? Absolutely, and I’m on it. But I'm doing what I can with the resources at my disposal. After dedicating myself full-time to 1TRIBE for nearly a year, you can bet it's been a ride. It's been rewarding, exhausting, and everything in between. But seeing the potential impact makes every bit worth it.
Education & Awareness: Every piece of content on 1TRIBE is designed to educate and inform. We're laying down the groundwork for a knowledgeable community that's well-versed in web3 possibilities and opportunities, especially for Africa.
Showcasing Talent: Through our platform, we're already highlighting African artists, musicians, and creators. It's a launchpad for talent that's yet to be fully discovered, offering glimpses into the richness of African creativity.
This is what 1TRIBE is about — it's not just a future promise; it's a present reality. We're already making strides in connecting Africa with web3, showing off our continent's talent, and building a community around this technology. And sure, we're ambitious about evolving into a super app that integrates the best of social, commerce, and education into one seamless experience. But every big dream starts with practical steps, and that's exactly what we're doing.
Your feedback has hit home. It reminds us that while we're working hard behind the scenes, we need to make sure the value we're creating right now is visible and felt. With the community's support, we're excited about the road ahead and fully committed to realising this vision.
I hope this gives you a clearer picture of where we stand today and where we're headed. I'm all ears for any more questions or a deeper discussion on this.
