EasyA is planning a 6-month educational campaign called "180 Days of Polkadot" to teach developers about Polkadot and its parachains/projects. They will work with many supporters, including Acala, Astar, Bifrost, and more. The campaign will have online lessons and two in-person hackathons at Harvard University and in London. The goal is to help 48,000 developers learn and have 500 people attend the hackathons. They want to create 100 new projects and get 10 million people to see their posts on social media. EasyA's co-founders, Phil and Dom, and the team made this plan by listening to the Polkadot community and working together.

This ecosystem-wide campaign will build on the huge success of our #60DaysOfPolkadot initiative which went viral, bringing 40,000 new developers into the Polkadot community. EasyA will then invite the best of these developers to two in-person hackathons to build and pitch their ideas in front of ecosystem teams and enthusiasts.

EasyA proposes a 6-month Polkadot educational campaign in the EasyA app, two in-person hackathons at Harvard University and London, and crash courses for Polkadot. Milestone 1: EasyA x Polkadot Developer Growth via In-Person Hackathons and Crash Courses (#180DaysOfPolkadot)

Steve from Swissborg, a Swiss-based exchange, has proposed a one-month Polkadot awareness campaign. They are requesting 30,000 DOT, with 12,500-15,000 DOT to be used as rewards for users who buy and hold DOT on their exchange. The goal is to increase Polkadot awareness and bring new users into the ecosystem. Swissborg has 750k users, with only 16k holding DOT. They aim to grow the holder base 3-4 times the current number and eventually have 15-20% of app users hold Polkadot. They have run similar campaigns with other projects, like Ternoa ($CAPS). Swissborg is a crypto wealth management platform that operates in 115 countries, has over 750,000 users, and lists over 45 cryptocurrencies.

I have been working with their marketing manager and lead growth hacker Alex Kalen, on this proposal for a one month awareness campaign centred around Polkadot.

Of the **30,000** DOT asked for we will be using **12,500 — 15,000**  as rewards to incentivise users who buy and hold DOT on our exchange over the course of the campaign. 

**_Example — "Purchase a minimum of $200 worth of Polkadot during the month of May and hold in app for 30 days to be elligble to win a share of our DOT proize pool". We can then draw winners at random. This is all done in app._**

Our aim with this focus month is to increase our app users awareness of Polkadot and to try to bring in new users / holders in to the ecosystem. Unlike other marketing proposals we can offer real data and metrics to show if the campaign was a success by measuring DOT trading volume and of course holder numbers.

Currently of our **750k** user base only **16k** hold $DOT on our app totalling over **1,000,000** DOT. So we have a huge scope to increase a holder base and awareness with this campaign.

We would be targetting growing our holder base to between 3-4x the current number by the end of this campaign, with a longer term target of 15-20% of app users to hold Polkadot. Growing our app user base also means we can look to create demand for more Polkadot projects. 

We have run previous campaigns like this with other projects to great effect. Our most recent similar campaign to this one being with Ternoa ($CAPS).

Treasury Proposal: Futarchy, a New Signal Generating Tech for Polkadot Governance

Electrocoin, a cryptocurrency brokerage and payment processing company, has proposed a new remittance platform called LiteSend. LiteSend aims to use blockchain technology to make international money transfers more efficient, secure, and cost-effective. The platform is currently in silent production and is accessible via a user-friendly website. Funds raised will be used to integrate stablecoin transactions, fund marketing campaigns, and expand the network of partner institutions.

LiteSend works by assigning a bank account number from a partner institution in the sender's region, converting the amount into a stablecoin on Polkadot's AssetHub chain, and then transferring it to a corresponding partner in the recipient's area. The main goal is to simplify and accelerate the remittance process while ensuring lower transaction fees and enhanced security.

Electrocoin was founded in 2014 and has become one of the most successful crypto companies in the region, enabling fast, easy, and secure cryptocurrency trading within the European Union. The company has a team of 30 members and has been recognized for its growth and innovation in the business community.

The problem statement highlights the slow and expensive nature of traditional remittance services, with international transfers taking 1 to 5 working days and an average cost of 6.18%. LiteSend proposes to use blockchain technology to speed up, secure, and decrease the cost of the remittance process.

The development tasks and budget for LiteSend include researching Polkadot's architecture, integration, and polishing the user interface. The marketing strategy focuses on partner acquisition and user acquisition through various channels such as events, online media, social media, and direct marketing. The total budget for development, marketing, and acquiring partner institutions is $195,000, equivalent to 28,761 DOT tokens.

Polkadot Decoded Asia is a big event happening on September 16-17, 2024, in Singapore. It is a part of the Singapore Token 2049 week. The event is for people who are interested in Polkadot, a big network for blockchain projects. It will have many activities like talks, exhibitions, and fun gatherings. The event will be in Chinese and English and will share the latest news about Polkadot.

The main goals of the event are to bring people together, show successful projects, and update everyone on the latest developments in Polkadot. It will also help grow the community and make people more excited about Polkadot.

The event is free for everyone who wants to join. They will need to register with their name and contact information. There will also be special NFTs given out as proof of attendance.

The event will be organized by Aitijia'er, a company in Asia that has organized big Polkadot events before. They will spend money on things like the venue, food, marketing, and other event needs. They are asking for $328,053.04 (54,121 DOT) to help pay for the event.

Polkassembly Social Contract 2024

Polkadot Decoded is a community event that has been voted to take place in Brussels, Belgium, and will be held alongside the 7th Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC). The event is scheduled for July 11-12, and the organizers have a pre-selected venue and a full proposal with an early budget estimation available. The Decentered Studio team is responsible for organizing the event and encourages feedback and questions from the community.

This is our first request to fund our community flagship event POLKADOT DECODED. As you might know we just closed the [voting for the 2024 location](https://www.townhallgov.com/polkadot/post/0x588f124dab69592925c683e64499646a40a6cf1db20c5708fbad1920e78ac931) and you clearly decided to have the event in Brussels, Belgium and to attach it to the [7th Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC)](https://ethcc.io/).

Polkadot Decoded 2024 treasury spend tranche 1/2

Polkadot is planning to add native storage to its network, using only DOT as the native token. This will allow anyone in the ecosystem to store and retrieve data through XCM. The idea is inspired by Gavin's vision of building a Ubiquitous Supercomputer. This storage offering will be similar to Filecoin and will help Polkadot become more like a supercomputer.

The native storage will be a system parachain, with DOT as the fee token. This is important because it will keep Polkadot independent from other networks and tokens. Compared to other storage networks like Crust, Polkadot's native storage will be provided by its own storage providers, not a subset of another network. Also, there will be no new token created for this project, so DOT will be the only fee payment token.

The team behind this proposal has experience in bringing MoveVM to Substrate and maintaining IPFS in Rust. They have also done extensive research on how to create this native storage. The goal is to make the system open source and decentralized, so anyone can propose improvements and maintain it.

We would like to add native storage offering to Polkadot.

One that uses DOT exclusively as the native token and where anyone in the ecosystem through XCM would be able to store and retrieve data. This is mainly inspired by the vision Gavin presented at Decoded 23 about building the Ubiquitous Supercomputer. When thinking about the app-centricity design and the Space and Cores model it will be critical for us to have native storage and not depend on other networks.

This basically extends the Polkadot value offering to include storage, similar to Filecoin, and brings us closer to the supercomputer vision.

We believe it's very important that this work is done as a system parachain with DOT used as the fee token, otherwise, any dependence on other networks or other tokens would undermine the goals.

Compared to existing offerings like Crust:

1.  Crust uses IPFS as its underlying storage network, on the other hand this would be native storage provided by the Polkadot storage providers, not the same storage network, not a subset. Even if you have a great incentivization model, being dependent on the storage technology limits what you can offer and how far you can innovate. For one to be free from these constraints it needs to have control of the whole stack.
    
2.  We are not proposing to create a new token on top of which our business model and investor returns would be built upon. This is a network owned solution, a system parachain, not a private endeavor like Crust. We want DOT to be the exclusive fee payment token. Someone said in another chat "than put all the eggs into the basket of one team which, if it disappears, takes the product with it (which is the case with every parachain right now)" and that is what we are trying to avoid and solve for. We just want to build the solution, not own it, system parachain, so avoiding "here's another token". Everything would be open source, open license, no ownership. Anyone can then make proposals to maintain and improve it. This whole industry, this is what its all about, open source and decentralization, making the system own itself.

Eiger proposes to add native storage offering to Polkadot, using DOT exclusively as the native token, as a system parachain, for the supercomputer vision, with open-source and open-license, avoiding dependence on other networks or tokens. Implementing a Polkadot-native system parachain for data storage: Phase 1/3

Project Glove is a proposal to increase participation in Polkadot's OpenGov governance system by addressing two main issues: the need for near-term liquidity of DOT and the fear of being "doxxed" from public voting behavior. The project aims to introduce an opt-in, open-source protocol that enables capital efficiency and pseudo-anonymity on top of OpenGov. If Referenda 450 passes, Project Glove will first be deployed on Kusama. The project's deliverables will be deployed under an AGPL license, and the team behind it is committed to developing long-term business relationships within the Polkadot community. Project Glove does not propose any changes to the core Polkadot Network but instead offers a protocol on top of the existing OpenGov system. The project's path to sustainability lies in increasing OpenGov participation, which will lead to more business opportunities for Address Labs.

## MAJOR UPDATE: GLOVE WILL FIRST DEPLOY ON KUSAMA IF APPROVED.  

If Referenda 450 passes, we will first deploy Project Glove on Kusama.  
  
We understand that it would be easy to be skeptical of this promise, especially if you don't know us personally, but it is not in the delivery team's strategic interest to not fullfil this commitment for several reasons:  
  
1\. We are doxxed.  
2\. The company behind the delivery team is a Delaware C-Corp that is currently in good standing.  
3\. Our team's amibitions are predicated on developing constructive, long-term business relationships within the Polkadot community.  
4\. We want to eventually become a direct blockspace customer.

Please consider this in connection with any modifications in voting decisions!

## Project Glove: An Open Source Protocol Enabling Capital Efficiency and Pseudo-Anonymity on top of OpenGov

## Project Glove Context 

Polkadot’s OpenGov governance system offers tremendous opportunity for experimentation, network engagement and value creation.

As is so often the case in the blockchain space, the Polkadot Network is at the forefront of 

innovation and its governance system is no different.

OpenGov, despite its potential to generate enormous demand for Polkadot, has very limited participation. 

Two reasons for this include:

1.  Many DOT holders value near-term liquidity for their DOT.
    
2.  Many DOT holders fear of being “doxxed” from their public voting behavior.
    

Project Glove seeks to address both of these OpenGov pain points by introducing an opt-in, open-source protocol enabling capital efficiency and pseudo-anonymity on top of OpenGov in order to meaningfully increase OpenGov participation, Polkadot network transactions, and voting power decentralization.

OpenGov Challenges Overview

The capital efficiency challenge in OpenGov is a well understood dynamic. This dynamic is a product of the OpenGov design which requires DOT to be locked up at increasing multipliers to boost voting power in exchange for the inability to transfer that DOT to another wallet. Many DOT holders value short-term liquidity, so aren’t willing to engage in voting with a meaningful portion of their DOT, or with a higher multiplier. The net result is that liquidity-focused DOT holders don’t vote.  
  

The second challenge – a fear of being doxed – is not often discussed, but is a natural product of human psychology in such a competitive, high-stakes paradigm. OpenGov participation can, therefore, carry high emotional, social, and even financial consequences for direct participants. Given the Polkadot Network publicly broadcasts all transactions, many DOT holders are afraid that their governance activities will be mapped back to their real world identities, resulting in:  

-   Harassment, bullying, and threats against safety.
    
-   Exclusion from social groups and communities.
    
-   Loss of future financial opportunities, including damage to personal brands.  
    

Fortunately, not all OpenGov participants have experienced these harmful situations, but many are afraid that they will, and avoid governance participation altogether.  

In fact, this fear is so extreme that many DOT holders move their DOT to centralized exchanges to avoid the possibility of being doxxed.  

And while public accountability is important for those proposing referenda, it shouldn’t necessarily be a requirement for everyone interested in expressing opinions on proposals.

Project Glove addresses both of these pain points as part of its open source deliverables.

## Project Glove Snapshot 

Project Glove introduces a layer of capital efficiency and pseudo-anonymity in the OpenGov voting process to generate more OpenGov participation. Kindly note that Project Glove is not proposing any changes to the core Polkadot Network, but rather, delivers a protocol on top of the existing OpenGov system.  

To share the clear value proposition of Project Glove, let’s imagine an OpenGov scenario without Project Glove with three voters on a hypothetical referenda:

Three voters have expressed their opinion with the majority of their DOT using lock-up periods ranging from 28 to 112 days, with the net result of the three votes being a 300 DOT advantage to Aye (450 + 250 - 400).  
  
But perhaps, based on the aggregated results of a referendum, the same on-chain outcome could take place, without each voter needing to use that much DOT, at that high of a multiplier.

For the network to officially decide on a referendum, the existing OpenGov system is not opinionated on what conviction multipliers are used by DOT voters, but rather, the sum of aggregated voting power between aye and nay votes.  

See the same scenario through Project Glove, where Project Glove significantly improves the capital efficiency for all three voters based on the aggregate result of their netted intended voting behavior, with a voting result of a 300 DOT advantage to Aye:

In this Project Glove scenario, the protocol enables all three participating DOT Holders to use less DOT at lower convictions to achieve the same net OpenGov result, despite all three participating DOT holders being willing to vote with more DOT at higher convictions.  

In addition to capital efficiency, Project Glove can also be optimized for public misdirection, enabling voters to ensure that the on-chain result of their vote differs from their true feelings.

In this Project Glove scenario, the outcome (aye/nay/abstain) as well as the amount of DOT used and the corresponding conviction, differs from what the voter would have otherwise been prepared to utilize.  

For the avoidance of doubt, Project Glove can’t always obscure that a DOT holder has participated in governance, but it can obscure how a DOT holder has participated in governance, assuming there is a sufficient amount of varying views on a particular referendum.

While further investigation is required to optimize Project Glove by taking into account the impact on referenda quorums, user preferences between capital efficiency and misdirection on a per-referenda basis, referenda duration, and overall system efficiency, the Project Glove framework will generate significantly more OpenGov participation from DOT holders that are sensitive to liquidity and anonymity.

This proposal benefits DOT holders and the Polkadot Network in the following ways:  

-   More Governance Participation: Increased quality of governance outcomes, due to more inclusive participation.
-   More DOT Transactions: Through more governance participation.
-   More Decentralized Voting Power Pockets: As a result of currently idle actors with larger DOT positions becoming engaged.
-   Elevate OpenGov: Resulting from a new primitive built on top that any ecosystem actor can use, that promotes innovation and new mechanisms for increasing network engagement.

All deliverables will be deployed under a AGPL license. 

_Why should DOT holders trust Project Glove_? 

We are designing an opt-in system that introduces the possibility of anonymity and capital efficiency in voting. We don’t believe that the core Polkadot Network should introduce these features, and they are better implemented as an opt-in system, much like the utilization of parachains. DOT holders are free to participate or leave Project Glove as they please. Project Glove doesn’t custody any DOT. All ecosystem members will be able to verify the source code of the Enclave, and set up their own instances once delivered.

Why does this project need to exist, and why should it be funded by the Treasury?_

OpenGov has extremely low participation, and Project Glove represents a tangible way to boost participation based on identified pain points and DOT holder validation. We are also incredibly excited about Project Glove because it introduces experimentation on top of the amazing OpenGov system, without attempting to make any changes to the core Polkadot Network. The deliverables are open source and can be repurposed in many ways, including for other active voters and voter groups.  
  

_What is the project’s path to sustainability?_

The deliverables, on a standalone basis, are a means to increasing OpenGov participation and pockets of power across the ecosystem. Project Glove deliverables will be open for everyone to run. Increased OpenGov participation will correlate to more business opportunities for Address Labs.

In the Ethereum ecosystem, Multisig has become a common requirement, evolving into one of the most significant applications in the realm of account abstraction. The largest Ethereum Multisig wallet, Safe, manages about **1%** of all ETH assets (valued at $3 billion). Other concepts like Social Recovery and Seedless Login have also seen substantial project involvement and rule formulation.

Substrate, on the other hand, has long featured relevant functional modules such as the Multisig Pallet, Recovery, and Proxy. These can either independently provide or combine to offer powerful Account Abstraction (AA) functionalities. Furthermore, in the Polkadot network, Multisigs control 5% of all DOT assets. This demand for Multisig is five times that of Ethereum, indicating a more robust need among Polkadot ecosystem users.

However, within the current Polkadot ecosystem, non-EOA wallets face three primary challenges:

**Challenge 1**: On a technical level, Polkadot provides account abstraction components like Multisig and Proxy in its code but lacks corresponding productization. For example:

Redot #1: Polkadot Restaking and Enabling Polkadot DA Capabilities

### Summary of Proposal

- **Issue**: A bug caused pool rewards to be sent to the wrong accounts during the unbonding process.
