PolkaBiz Retroactive Treasury Request January - April 2025

SAGE, or Substrate Asset Game Engine, is a proposal by Rosťa aimed at benefiting the Polkadot ecosystem, particularly for junior developers and game developers. The main goal is to improve tooling for .net development in Polkadot, which is used by many projects like Xcavate, Ajuna, and PlutoFramework. Supporting SAGE will help these projects by allowing teams to focus more on their final products and less on low-level details.

Cedric, the main developer behind SAGE and his company Ajuna, have a proven track record of developing open-source tooling for the .net ecosystem and creating advanced on-chain games. Their work is well-maintained and has been beneficial for the community, as seen in the quick responses to GitHub issues and contributions from other developers.

SAGE has already shown its effectiveness in hackathons, with projects using Substrate.Net.Api winning major prizes. The .net tooling developed by Cedric and Ajuna is powerful and easy to use, which is crucial for the success of projects relying on it.

Substrate Asset Game Engine (SAGE) revised

A proposal has been made to allocate 5 million DOT (Polkadot's native token) towards DeFi incentives on Hydration, a platform that provides liquidity for Polkadot. The incentives will be distributed over 12 months and are divided into three parts: 2 million DOT for stablecoin incentives, 2 million DOT for liquidity provider (LP) incentives, and 1 million DOT to mint GIGADOT. The goal is to attract users, deepen liquidity, and strengthen Polkadot's position in the DeFi space. The proposal builds on the success of the previous Hydration liquidity campaign that started in June 2024. The funds will be kept in a proxy on Hydration, allowing Opengov to reclaim unspent funds and track the balance. Polkadot Storage has a new long-term plan to improve their storage system. They have completed 90% of phase 3 and are testing it in a private testnet. They will soon move to a public testnet and work on integrating it with the mainnet. Here are some of the new ideas they have for phase 4:

1. Jam Integration: They want to use their storage for Jam DA resupply and let any Jam Service use their long-term storage.

IBERLABS, previously known as the Business Development team for Spain and Andorra, has been working to expand Polkadot's presence in the region. Bifrost has a good track record of repaying treasury loans with interest, having brought a total income of 8,370.5523 KSM to the Kusama Treasury. The loan will be used to mint vDOT, diversifying the Polkadot treasury's DOT capital and earning staking rewards. Bifrost is a liquid staking app-chain for all blockchains, allowing users to earn staking rewards and DeFi yields across multiple chains. The Infrastructure Builders Program (IBP) is a group of independent companies that help the Polkadot network and its parachains with important services. They were started in 2022 and are spread all over the world, making them strong and reliable. They need more money to keep helping the network.

The money they ask for is to add to the IBP bounty, which is managed by five people who work with Polkadot. The bounty pays them for their work only after they have done it.
