Polkadot is planning to upgrade to version 1.5.0, which includes improvements in dispute handling and full relay chain support for Elastic Scaling. However, due to the Kusama incident, the upgrade is being canceled. A new version will be prepared with the following changes:

2. Validator re-enabling

Substrate Asset Game Engine (SAGE) revised

A proposal has been made to allocate 5 million DOT (Polkadot's native token) towards DeFi incentives on Hydration, a platform that provides liquidity for Polkadot. The incentives will be distributed over 12 months and are divided into three parts: 2 million DOT for stablecoin incentives, 2 million DOT for liquidity provider (LP) incentives, and 1 million DOT to mint GIGADOT. The goal is to attract users, deepen liquidity, and strengthen Polkadot's position in the DeFi space. The proposal builds on the success of the previous Hydration liquidity campaign that started in June 2024. The funds will be kept in a proxy on Hydration, allowing Opengov to reclaim unspent funds and track the balance.
