The [micro-sr25519 package](https://github.com/paulmillr/micro-sr25519) developed by Paul Miller as an extension to @noble/curves to support the Polkadot ecosystem is now ready for the auditing phase. For this phase, Paul suggested to go with a new firm other than the Cure53 as most of his work is audited by Cure53. So we (Edgetributor SubDAO) explored multiple auditing firms for the last couple of weeks and selected 3 firms for the final evaluation. We then reviewed the scopes and offerings of those 3 firms based on the backgrounds of the auditing researchers they offered, their experience, stack familiarity and total number of researchers proposed in the scope, Polkadot ecosystem familiarity, low level JS/TS experience and cryptographic curves familiarity. Oak Security firm is the one which turned out to be superior compared to the other offerings in this specific case. [Oak Security GmbH](https://www.oaksecurity.io/) provides security services in the web3 space, such as threat modeling, penetration testing, security audits, and fuzz testing while following a multidisciplinary approach in their services.  
Based in Munich but operating worldwide, they currently use a pool of 52 highly qualified security engineers and researchers. They operate under two brands: The Solidified brand focuses on EVM-based blockchains, while Oak Security caters to a wider blockchain ecosystem, with departments focusing on the security of Rust and Go source code, low-level protocol security, and infrastructure security, which goes beyond the realm of traditional smart contract security.

# **Importance**

Although many of the Polkadot ecosystem tools/products already started adopting the micro-sr25519 package, Paul Miller himself advocated to get the package audited before using it in any production deployments. Currently there is an open [pull request to switch from @polkadot/wasm-crypto to micro-sr25519 package in PolkadotJS suite](https://github.com/polkadot-js/common/pull/1971) for ecosystem-wide security and performance benefits.

# **Edgetributor SubDAO’s role**

What started as a quest to have the development of a missing component required for our project, have come a long way to benefit the whole Polkadot ecosystem. Edgetributor SubDAO as the curator of this proposal will be representing Oak Security in OpenGov and in other operational duties. Edgetributor SubDAO will be responsible for the custody of the USDC (in a multisig) which needs to be disbursed to the Oak Security in two mentioned phases. Oak Security also requires a legal entity to sign the contract and for the same purpose Edgetributor SubDAO will utilise the legal entity of Edgeware DAO Association (Swiss Association) to save the costs and time required to involve PCF.  
The entire amount corresponding to this proposal (except the refundable bridging buffer) will be going to the auditing entity Oak Security. In this whole process, Edgetributor SubDAO or Edgeware DAO or any Edgeware contributors are not getting financially benefited by any means. We are interested in exploring the BD bounty for our time and efforts contributed so far, especially for the screening of the auditing firms, comparative analysis of their offerings and follow-ups.

The main goal of this partnership is to create an MVP integration of MinIO in Acurast's decentralized compute environment, allowing developers to access MinIO through Acurast's native P2P layer. Polkadot had a problem with its software update, which stopped three staking accounts from getting rewards. A proposal has been made to give these accounts the rewards they missed out on. The proposal looks at how much money was in the accounts when the rewards stopped, how many times they didn't get rewards, and how much the rewards would have been worth during that time. Here are the details for each account:

**SUMMARY**

The Polkadot runtime upgrade to v1.1.2 introduced an unintentional breaking change that prevented three staking accounts from receiving staking rewards across multiple eras. This proposal seeks to reimburse these accounts for the rewards they should have earned for backing validators and securing the network.

The process was detailed by core developer gpestana in multiple articles compiled in the following Polkadot Forum post:

Polkadot Cloud Website Development (Phase 1: Q2 2025)

Open Web Academy is an educational organization that focuses on creating new blockchain solutions and growing the ecosystem. They have worked with various protocols and have had a significant impact on the NEAR Protocol, creating educational plans for the NEAR foundation and the "NEAR Dev Hub" developer circle. Now, they are proposing a new initiative focused on Polkadot, a platform they believe is ideal for developing blockchain solutions due to its interoperability, scalability, and flexibility.

The proposal includes creating a scientific paper about the performance of implementing AI on the Polkadot blockchain, conducting research and literature reviews, defining a theoretical framework, designing and developing experiments, executing and collecting data, analyzing and discussing results, and writing and publishing the paper. The Open Web Academy organization has carried out educational activities focused on the creation of new blockchain solutions that allow the ecosystem to grow.

Researching and comparing blockchains helps identify those with the best performance, interoperability, and sustainability, ensuring that AI infrastructure remains efficient, reliable, and resilient to failures or manipulation.

Research on the Efficiency of AI Models on the Polkadot Blockchain

Open Web Academy has established an agreement with the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada ([CICESE](https://www.cicese.edu.mx/)), one of the leading research centers in Mexico, to collaborate on the creation of educational content related to artificial intelligence and the development of scientific research in this field. As part of this alliance, the proposal includes the creation of a scientific paper titled "Computational Efficiency of AI Models on the Polkadot Blockchain", which aims to compare the execution of artificial intelligence models on and off the blockchain, evaluating costs and processing times.

Thanks to this collaboration, we have the participation of highly qualified experts and mentors, ensuring both the quality of the course and the rigor of the study, providing a practical and innovative approach to AI and blockchain.

**Proposal Summary:**

Following the successful implementation of the Editorial Board model for decentralized management of the Polkadot en Español X account and Marketing activities in LatAm, we now seek funding for the next six months (December - May) to support the salaries of our three key members. This continuation proposal references proposal #641 (where the Editorial Board was proposed) and #938 (Ref that funded the first six months, cohort 1) and details the achievements and structure of our Editorial Board, alongside the funding requirements necessary to maintain and expand our efforts.

-   **Referendum #641 Approved:** Execution begins in May 2024, with the team taking over the official Polkadot Spanish account and initiating efforts to consolidate marketing initiatives in Latin America.
-   **Referendum #938 Approved:** By the end of July 2024, the referendum to determine the salary for the first cohort of the Spanish Editorial Board is approved. This referendum covers the salaries for three members from June to November 2024.
-   **December 2024:** A new cohort assumes responsibilities and continues supporting the execution of Referendum #641. This subsequent referendum has been launched to fund the salaries of three new members from December 2024 through May 2025.

Despite Polkadot's growing ecosystem, users lack a unified analytics platform that captures both ecosystem-wide metrics and parachain-specific KPIs. Current tools provide fragmented insights, failing to capture the unique value propositions of individual parachains—whether in DeFi, DePIN, RWA, or BTCfi. Each parachain's success metrics are distinct: Acala thrives on trading volumes and staking, Interlay on active loans, and Peaq Network on user adoption. To address this fragmentation, PYOR proposes PolkaPulse—an all-in-one analytics platform combining ecosystem-wide indicators with parachain-specific metrics.

Our proposed Dashboard majorly will consist of 2 products hosted live on a single user-facing interface. These 2 products / Dashboard are

PolkaPulse: DeFi Dashboard for Polkadot Parachains

Following the feedback from our October 2024 application, [which recommended adjusting our budget to $30K–$40K](../referenda/1261#673b62ce245ac9841fd2633d) for support, we have streamlined our initial initiative to **$16K**. We were also advised to apply for the Event Bounty, but after previously reaching out, we were informed that funding for Nigeria was limited, and our request was denied.

Despite these challenges, we remain committed to expanding the Polkadot developer community and showcasing how Polkadot extends beyond core blockchain development, not just for building parachains and custom blockchains but also for scalable decentralized applications, similar to other leading blockchain networks.

ParaXerve is an NFT marketplace that supports both mainnet and testnet environments. The platform already has a working prototype where users can create collections and mint NFTs on AssetHub (both mainnet and testnet).

ParaXerve NFT Marketplace Development

The Gray Paper Reader is a tool that helps people work with the Gray Paper for JAM, the next generation of Polkadot Cloud. It makes sharing, annotating, and tracking changes in the document easier. The tool is open-source and already used by the community. FluffyLabs.dev, the creator of the tool, is asking for support to keep improving it.

The Gray Paper is important because it explains JAM in detail, but it's not easy to read and understand. There are over 20 teams working on JAM, and they all need to read the Gray Paper. The Gray Paper changes over time, and it's hard to keep track of these changes.

The Gray Paper Reader solves some problems with the PDF version of the Gray Paper. It's hard to share a part of the document, and notes can get lost when the document is updated. The Gray Paper Reader has features like an archive of different versions, easy switching between versions, and sharing short links to specific parts of the document.

The Gray Paper Reader is already being used a lot in the official chat room for the Gray Paper. The team behind it, FluffyLabs.dev, is asking for $21,000 to keep improving the tool. They have a plan for what they want to do in the future, and you can read more about it in their full proposal.

**Context**

The Gray Paper is the formal specification of JAM, the next generation of Polkadot Cloud. It’s detailed but not easy to read, understand, and keep up with it, as it changes over time.

There are over 20 teams that publicly stated (including us), they are participating in the JAM Prize Contest and all their members surely do read the Gray Paper. Discussions in Element channels highlight the need to clarify some parts or fix errors, so the document changes over time. There are also at least 4 major revisions planned adding extra features.

We built the Gray Paper Reader to alleviate major pain points we identified.

**Problem**

While working with the Gray Paper PDF versions internally, we identified the following issues and addressed them in the Gray Paper Reader. It’s difficult to quickly share a fragment or formula from the PDF.

Screenshots are somewhat of an option, but they lack the bigger context and require indication from which version of the GP they are taken. Referencing GP from the code comments may quickly get outdated.

Both quoting a fragment or referencing a formula id may not be valid in the newer revision of GP.

Notes on both printed or digital versions are hard to transfer to a newer revision.

**Proposal**

We propose retroactive funding for the development of the Gray Paper Reader hosted at [https://graypaper.fluffylabs.dev](https://graypaper.fluffylabs.dev) with open source code using permissive license available on github ([https://github.com/fluffylabs/graypaper-reader).](https://github.com/fluffylabs/graypaper-reader\).) Unlike the JAM prize, which focuses on client implementations, no existing funding covers the creation of ecosystem tools like the Gray Paper Reader.

**Available solutions**

There are tools like Adobe Acrobat, Mendeley, and Notion for working with PDFs. These tools include features like annotations, version history, and sharing, but they don’t fully alleviate identified problems:

-   Adobe Acrobat: Great for comments and highlights, but doesn’t help with tracking notes across versions or supporting Gray Paper discussions by sharing short links.
-   Mendeley: Good for research papers but not built for changing, evolving documents like the Gray Paper.
-   Notion: Useful for shared notes and organization but doesn’t directly support detailed version tracking or work well with PDFs.

The Gray Paper Reader features:

-   Archive of published Gray Paper versions
-   Easily switching between multiple revisions of the Gray Paper.
-   Quickly switching the color scheme of the Gray Paper (Light, Dark and Gray modes).
-   Short Links to specific fragments of a specific revision for easy sharing on open discussion channels
-   Attaching notes with rich formatting to specific fragments and automatically migrating them between revisions.
-   A command line tool to scan codebase for links to the reader and automatically migrating them to newer revisions.
-   Backlinks to all messages sent on JAM Element Chat that included the link to the reader.
-   Automatic upgrade of the tool in case a new version of Gray Paper is released. Below is an outline of the deliverables and key functionalities.

[Retroactive Funding] JAM GrayPaper Reader

The 2Days Devs Meetups is an online event for developers, entrepreneurs, and tech enthusiasts in East Africa to learn about the Polkadot ecosystem. The event will have sessions, workshops, and activities to help people use Polkadot technology. The main goals are to teach, empower, expand the community, and encourage the use of Polkadot.

The event is for people who make things with technology, people who start businesses using new tech, people who like Polkadot, and people who study new tech. It will happen on March 15-16, 2025, online with 200-300 people joining.

On the first day, there will be an introduction to Polkadot, a workshop to start building with it, and a discussion about how blockchain can help Africa. On the second day, there will be more talks about opportunities in Polkadot, short success stories, group discussions, and a showcase of projects that use Polkadot to solve problems.

The event will cost $1,800 and will be spent on speakers, marketing, the event platform, team, graphics, networking, and other things. There will be special content about Polkadot, hands-on workshops, a showcase of projects, chances to network, and resources shared after the event.

Before the event, they will choose speakers, start marketing, and open registrations. During the event, they will make sure everything runs smoothly and people can ask questions and discuss. After the event, they will share recordings and a report, and keep the community engaged.

The event is organized with DevCommunity.io and Uptodate Developers, and led by Dan Baruka, who is a leader in these communities and a Polkadot Ambassador. This event will help people learn about Polkadot, grow the community, and get more people to use Polkadot technology.

Brad, a popular video-game streamer, is requesting $25,000 for promoting Polkadot on various platforms like TikTok, Twitch, YouTube, Instagram, and Discord. From July 10, 2024, to January 27, 2025, he displayed a large neon Polkadot logo and discussed Polkadot during live-streams, resulting in about 20 million total video and stream views. His audience is mostly young people under 35 years old. Brad plans to use some of the funds to expand his reach and collaborate with other content creators to grow his audience.

**Context of the proposal:** This proposal requests compensation for a campaign of ~7 months by an accomplished video-game streamer who has endorsed Polkadot daily for nearly a year across various platforms including TikTok, Twitch, Youtube, Instagram, and Discord. The campaign contains constant visible branding, direct engagement, and integrating Polkadot directly into the content, largely boosting Polkadot's visibility among a younger demographic.

**The compensation amount:** In my first proposal with Mister Cole's help, I decided to request a lower amount because it was my first interaction with the broader Polkadot community. After this passed, I started earning roughly $2,000 per million views between April and July 2024 from a treasury-funded social media company (since then, they have seemingly dissolved, with my previous manager quitting, and the new manager giving vague responses for several months). Following this, I have received ~19.7 million views through the duration of this 7-month campaign. Seemingly being the only major content creator largely on TikTok promoting Polkadot, further incorporating Polkadot into my content than before, and this being my second interaction with OpenGov, I believe it is fair to request roughly the same rate I did during my very first proposal.

**Description:**

The full-time streamer is actively conducting a targeted promotion towards mainly millennial and Gen Z viewers about the Polkadot network during his daily streaming sessions. Multiple avenues of promotion are being taken: Speaking about what Polkadot is in a learner-friendly manner, occasionally streaming games powered by Polkadot such as “NFL Rivals”, including the proper links to Polkadot on all platforms, and showcasing a large neon sign of the logo in the background. This sign is strategically positioned to catch the viewer’s attention, encouraging them to engage with the streamer about Polkadot.

**Details:**

The streamer had a proposal in April with Mister Cole’s help which passed at 99% Aye: [Previous Proposal (link)](../referenda/721 "Previous Proposal (link)"). The streamer was also paid by a treasury-funded media company for roughly 3 months following the aforementioned proposal. I am actively introducing new people into the Polkadot ecosystem through my work and have been engaged with prominent members of the community for over a year.

 Live-Streamer Retroactive Proposal

The Treasury Proposal is about integrating QMDB Core into Substrate Storage. QMDB is a storage system that will help make Substrate faster and better. The project will happen in four steps:

1. Make QMDB work with Substrate (3 weeks, 2,000 DOT)
2. Create a way to organize the stored information (2 weeks, 1,500 DOT)
3. Test everything to make sure it works (1 week, 750 DOT)
4. Put it on a test network and make it better (1 week, 750 DOT)

QMDB Core Integration for Substrate Storage Enhancement

Six has been part of the old ambassador program, long before Giotto proposed to link it to any salary. In this position he onboarded countless people to Polkadot, and also helped me get involved in the program.

During the messy early days of the new HA Program, Six has been a voice of reason, and in this divisive environment, managed to maintain a good relationship with almost everyone, avoiding taking sides and seeking to build consensus. Even through the Ambassador program ultimately went into a different direction, Six contributed greatly to the program’s foundation.

As for the size of the tip, it is always difficult to put a number to these contributions, so this exercise will never be perfect. But to put it into context, these USDT 20k it is approximately half of the amount requested by DDS and Lucy each for their work in the ambassador program.
